View Full Version : what comes around goes around????
In everyones honest oppinion, if you do right by someone else, do you think or believe in the long run it will come right back to you? IE your friend from work says he doesnt have the money to go and have a beer after work , you tell him you'll get him one no big deal. Now Im not going to go get on him about one or two beers. This guy after all has a family to support. Now say for instance, you go out to a titty club with him, and spend 20 bucks for him to get a really really good dance. You'd expect him in the future to repay you some way or another right? Or someway somehow get you back right?

Well, I wouldn't use the example you used but in the past, I helped a few people who ahd financial problems and years later, they came to my aid. I also helped a cop years ago in a 10-13 situation...a couple of years later, this same cop pulled my ass out of a fire!!! yes, there is a circle!!!

Treat it as if he just gave you an I.O.U. When you think he can buy you a nice dance, you bring it up.

just don't let him give you the 'nice dance' himself...
it would probably only be worth 10...
;)
i'm kidding... it sounds like you're looking more forward to the dance than the 20 bucks, which sounds like the right way to look at it...

I like to think that when bad people do something bad, they get what they deserve, or get some punishment.
I think when someone does something that makes you feel like shit, you'll find something bad that happens to them and make it like the bad thing happened to them cause they were a dick to you.

Me too bro Me too.
But I think that nature is, ive said it to cliche, Cruel but Fair.
Cruel in that bad things happen to people, and fair in that nature doesnt care how much money you have or your social status; we're all gonna Dance with the Grim Reaper.
But we see that for some, money can make things a lot nice while we're here.
So: Is it in our nature to be Good? or Bad? or Both? Is it the norm the lie cheat and steal? Or is following the Golden Rule the norm? What is Good based on? and Bad? Does Evil exist? Is it some Thing, or just a part of our Nature?
Ok you have 20 minutes to complete this section. Answer the questions until you see the word Stop. If you finish before the time is up, do not go on to the next section, you may check your work in this section. Please read the Sample Question silently as I read it aloud...

I think it depends on your beliefs to answer this. I'm religious(though I have lost a lot of faith in God)and I believe we are born in this world with sin. Sin is evil. I think that it is human nature to lie cheat and steal, but we also have something in us that keeps it balanced. A conscious(sp?) if you will. I don't know though, if the conscious is telling us to be good or just making us aware of the things are decisions might lead to. Example:If I steal soemthing, I will get in trouble. Is my conscious telling me that stealing is evil and bad, or is it telling me I might be getting into trouble if I do that.
Evil does exist. Just look at 9/11, pure evil. It was so clearly visable. There is of course a flip side. Good does exist as well, it's just harder to find.
So...Do I pass?

Beats me Keith, but I dont get the concept of Sin as Evil, or Evil as this thing out there that inhabits some people. As to 9/11 I dont see Evil as you described it, I see psychos brainwashed by religious fundamentalism who thought taking out as many of the Infidel as possible is the Best way.
But again, I don't know. I'm reading a book on it now; hence, my questions

I am coming at this from a Christian background. Sin is the work of Satan. Satan is evil. Thats how I drew my conclusion. I think the answer can be different for people depending on their background.
As for 9/11, those men wanted to kill innocent people. People who were just trying to go and work that morning. Sounds evil to me.

Certain evils are part of human nature. It is human nature to enjoy seeing another human down. My philosophical friend was explaining this to me: I had stated that I was confused with our conversation (through AIM). He then said "I knew that", we then argued about his saying that and how I saw it as unecessary, he stated that he said it in order to boost his own self esteem. This is human nature, he was gaining some form of power over me by reassuring (in his own mind) that he had better understanding of the subject, thus giving him power. We then discussed another situation: If you have a friend and that friend trips and breaks their arm, you will comfort them, by comforting you are gaining some peice of power over them. Human Nature is about this power over others. This can be seen as an evil and cruel thing, but its completely natural.
Some evils however are not natural, many of them having to do with ones will to survive and prosper. In order to further your own life choices, chances are your going to have to barge into someone else's, and most likely causing them trouble. The terrorists had a mission, they had a life choice, and that was to follow their leader (of whom they were brainwashed by) to crash the planes into the buildings, their reason for doing this is their belief that had they done this, they would go to heaven.
I hope that isn't too confusing, this (like morals) is a hard topic to discuss as well. Talking to my buddy has provide me with alot of new outlooks on things, and changed some that I had.
