aight fools, seems like i gotta solve this for the NFL.

some people say they should adopt the college overtime, or some modification of it. a lesser some want it the way it is. fuck em both i say

overtime is a 15 minute sudden death. why not just make it a 15 minute not sudden death.

play out the whole 15 minute overtime, whoever is leading when it ends wins, if its tied, its a tie unless its the playoffs, then play another period in the playoffs.

then you get each team the ball once, and still wont go more than 15 more minutes, its the best idea considering we dont see overtime all that often

I absolutely agree though. A coin toss. That's bullshit. Both teams should have a possession. That just seems the only fair way to do it.

I think a ten minute OT would be better.

no big deal, i just thought you were serious

10 minutes is fine, i just say play the whole time, no sudden death, and no college one, way to easy

didn't they say that the team who wins the toos in OT only wins slightly more than 50% of the time?

if so, then you would think 'what's the problem'?

I think the concern with doing it like college is that the scores can become ridiculous.
You see it a lot in college.
A game that was tied at 21-21 can end up being 42-42 in 10 minutes.
The NFL would prtobably have some concerns with the integrity of the record books.
I think something along the lines that both teams get the ball on say the 35 and they only count the scoring when it decides the game.
So in the 21-21 game, if both teams score a TD on the first posession its null and they do it again.
Then if one team kikcs the FG and the other scores the TD, the final would be 27-24.

I have balls !!!

i dont mind sudden death i hate that fg's can win ball gmaes. no fg's in ot. td's only! that way offenses have to cover the whole field, just like the defense.
