I pretty much agree on this one. While it's embarassing that it happened, it's in all likelyhood a typo of human error. Not anything that was malicious or intended to show that people are forgetting how important this day was to all of our lives. People make mistakes. This I'm sure will be corrected very quickly.

Personally I will never forget this date, as I'm sure most people will not. However I'll bet anything whoever made the typo or engraved it that way probably feels pretty bad about it. It happens, and it will be fixed.

Stuff like this just makes me wonder, who the hell was printing this (or engraving, can't tell what kind of sign it was)? What rock has this person been under that they wouldn't recognize the mistake as it was being produced? Do they speak English? Were they living in Zimbabwe in 2001 & have no idea what this sign was for or what this date means?

My point was: if someone doesn't speak/read the language well enough, perhaps the person actually doing the work on the sign would not comprehend the inscription enough to even realize that "2002" was a typo.
