I don't think I have ever seen a thread on this subject.

My grandparents came from Ireland...both sides! Both of my grandfathers became NYPD police officers (surprise?) And both of my grandmothers were nurses trained in Ireland but never practiced here. I remember as a kid, all the colleughs (SP) that were held at my house in the Bronx. That's a musical soirree that my grandparent's friends would hold playing all sorts of instruments...button accordians, violins, penny whistles, guitars, the odd bagpipe...my nanny and mom would sing duets togther while my poppop danced a reel.

My neighborborhood was mostly Italian , so I also grew up with that tradition.....eating, talking singing etc!!!!


So....hoiw did everyone else grow...I hope it was as nice as mine!!!!

Fathers mom from Genoa, father from England.

My Mom`s parents were from Palermo , Sicily and My Dad`s parents were from Cartiff, Wales. What I do remember were the large Italian Weddings for My 3 older sisters. I thought these freakin` savages would never stop eating and partying. Also, my hot cousins with the big knockers.

I was born in England; my parents were born in England; my parents' parents were born in England; and all my paternal lineage worked on the Liverpool docks as long as anyone can remember. On and on back through the ages. Although my paternal grandmother's maiden name was French, Molyneux, and my last name, Pitt, is German in origin, so I guess we came from there at some point - probably with William the Conqueror.
