Pigeon troubles

[Snoogans]

At work today, we found a nest with 2 pigeon eggs up in the rafters. My boss didnt want them hatching in the warehouse, so he was goin to throw them out.
When i picked them up, i could feel warm and something moving around inside
I could allow my boss to kill them, since they were old enough to be moving, so i wrapped them up in napkins and brought them home. i now have them in an old 20 gallon fish tank for now.

any ideas on how to hatch them, and what to feed them at first, im not sure if they will be big enough to eat bird feed

Not sure what to do and I never really had a problem with pigeons until one day a couple of weeks ago as I was leaving work one crapped on me. First time. This f'er must have been dining on guacamole and black beans because that is what seemed to be all over my sleeve, hand and discman. Now I am anti-pigeon. We had a deal!!!!

Chew up some worms and spit them back into the birds mouths.

Actually putting the eggs on a heating blanket would probably help, but make sure it is on low because if not it could be harmful.

i have the heat lamp on low right now, the one i had for the snake i used to have in the tank. im not worried so much about hatching them, as what they need to eat at first. ill gladly raise them till they are big enough to let go, but i dont wanna give them feed if they need something else

I think you are going to need a medicine dropper to feed them. Maybe sugar water at first? I know that you need some nutrients for them, but I am not sure how to get it to them. Maybe disolve bird food in water?

im not a hippie, i hate alot of things. i just cant have animals die knowingly if i can stop it, especially baby ones.

Update: I had to bring the eggs inside cause a few animals were gathering outside trying to get to the eggs.

i have them on my couch right now wrapped up in a fleece. Im a little worried cause the egg shell isnt as warm as it was when i first found them, but im hoping maybe thats just cause they were up top of a warehouse

If they hatch, youll have to hand feed them grain by grain for several weeks and youll be suprised how fast they grow. Feed them till you feel this pouch swelling in front of their chest. Its their "crop". I use stuff like parakeet food. Its a hassle and they will shit and stink and stuff, but its kinda rewarding too. Just get a handfull of straw and newspapers and theyll be fine. Oh, and water too. Like a small saucer of it. Theyll dip their beaks in it and drink on their own. When they are big enough, theyll fly away to seek their own kind. Theyll stop back once in a while to say "hi". Youll feel good.

When you go to feed them, youll have to gently force their beak open and drop the grain down their throat. They make a baby bird food too that you mix with water and have to entice them to eat. I usually have them sitting on paper towels in a small deep bowl when you do this. They are gonna be ugly as hell for the first few weeks, and their heads will look really weird. But once they start developing, they will blossom and get really nice feathers. They will be tame and you can handle them and they will bond to you. Theyll think your their mother. They peep like crazy when you go near them. Youll have to feed them 1 -2 times a day. Keep them warm.

According to a vet I talked to once years ago when I was raising a pair of baby robins (cat got their mom... btw they were doing really well, ready o fldge and everything and thn I left them in the care of someone else for an afternoon and they fed them huge caterpillars and candy corns and they died, assholes) another good thing to feed baby birds is canned puppy food. In the beginning you will have to open their mouhs and sick it in there (or mix with some water, get a syringe and squirt it in there) but soon they will learn and they will constantly be begging.
