It is so sad when bad things happen to bad people.

Oh wait, I mean it is great when that happens, GREAT! The schmucks running that Company were a much greater threat to the free market economy than the hippies wearing Che Guevara t-shirts ever were.

I'm sure a lot of people are satisfied with this one. It's about time someone other than the mailboy at Enron went down.

But.....but.....he's Bush's friend, right? Bush has been protecting him from the law!................

..........right?!?!

Hopefully, John Edwards can use his amazing legal abilities to FINALLY bring him to justice.

Thank God for John Edwards.

Although I'm a big advocate of killing and eating the rich as a general principal, I'm down with WrestlingFan's implication that Martha got railroaded. In brief, she's likely to do jail time for "lying" to FBI agents (not under oath) about an alleged crime that the government never bothered to charge her with. Except in the most hypothetical construct, no one was damaged by her actions. More importantly, I suspect for her, she also lost control of a company she spent most of her life building and that has been run on the up & up.

On the other hand, Lay and his posse actively & deliberately went about turning the company they controlled into a Ponzi scheme of artificial growth, manipulated the energy markets in Cali costing jobs and cash to those folks and went out of their way to encourage their employees and the investing public to keep putting their money into an entity that was collapsing from the inside so that they could keep sucking the cash out of the thing for a few more months. These MFers deserve to have ALL their assets stripped from them and to be forced to spend the rest of their lives working for minimum wage.

But as the late great Joe Strummer implied (as voiced in my sig quote) life isn't necessarily fair.

Peter: The worse they're going to do is put you in a white-collar minimum security resort for a couple of months.

Spring term is almost over, and I'm really hating my job. My lease on my apartment is amost run out. The tags on my car expire next week. If I'm ever going to do it, this just seems like a good time to kill myself..</center>

I thought Peter Falk said that.

Go straight to hell, boy.

Now I'm starving

I'm about to turn it up a notch!

If he's guilty of only HALF of what he's been charged with, Lay should be strung up by his nuts and the former Enron employees should beat him like a pinata.
