I've gotta rant this one...

I am sick and tired of the criticism Cosby is receiving for his TRUTHFUL remarks. As you all should know since I've bludgened you all to death with this information, I am a 17 year old african american growing up in what many if not all would call the "ghetto" and I must agree with Cosby. Whether the setting is my school, my community and most dissapointing, my chuch, the majority of our youth fits the bill in everything Cosby has said, and it disgusts me. Adding to my last remark, it frightens me that the majority of my peers are not able to read at the grade level nor can they fully articulate their views to fully express themselves. Furthermore, they and myself as well as I too stray from my more reserved nature from time to time, do tend to act out, and use such words as "niggers", "bitches", "hoes", and other filth when referring to one another. Throw in the fact that our most of my peers main concern is their own personal image and popularity in school rather than what we are sent to school to obtain, an education. Now, as you take that into account, also keep in mind that many of my peers parents actually encourage this, or are neglectful and therefore cannot provide much guidance to us in order to show us what is "right" and "wrong".

Have you digested all of that? Now, if you have and have half a brain in your head, you tell me if Cosby is wrong. The man is speaking the God honest truth!

The man is not referring to you in any way, so why are you being so contemptuous towards him? If a parent scoleded his or her child for stealing, would you interject yourself and verbally attack the parent? I'm not disagreeing with him...we all know it's true, and we've been aware of it for Lord-knows-how long. That's what irks me. And yeah, I probably am overreacting, but when I've been hearing for years young social activists screaming the EXACT SAME THING Bill is saying, seemingly towards nothing but deaf ears, it gets pretty frustrating when Cosby actually gets attention for those sentiments, but has absolutely zero to offer in terms of idea or solutions or an "action plan." He doesn't point to any people or organizations trying to stem the tide of undereducation or illiteracy in this country...nothing. Complaint, boom, move on.
