I have a spreadsheet in excel and one column is a text entry that represents a product (CG8, E3, etc. example). I have a 50,000 line spreadsheet where I need to count how many prroducts are in that one column (so it would tell me that CG8 appeared 10,000 times in that column, E3 appears 5,000 times, etc). Anyone know a quick way to do this?

Go to Excel help and look up "CountIf". It will give you the expression example. It tells you how many times a specific entry occurs within a requested range.

I would love it if there was an Excel forum on this board where all the various Excel help threads could reside. They really great for reference when in a jam.

I think we should have a computer section of the board. There seems to be a lot of questions on here regarding this topic.
