From Impactwrestling.com:

WWE Says Bearer Might Not Be Dead
Reported By Ashish

After 1wrestling.com pointed out yesterday that WWE violated their own policy of not showing any murders by having Undertaker kill Paul Bearer at the Great American Bash, Gary Davis (WWE Vice President, Corporate Communications) sent out the following:

"Last night's 'Concrete Crypt Match' was similar in concept to the "Buried Alive" matches of the past. No one was murdered. After the The Great American Bash Pay-Per-View went off the air, the crowd at The Scope in Norfolk saw Paul Bearer come up for air and then placed on a stretcher to receive "medical attention." There will be an update on Paul Bearer on this Thursday's WWE SmackDown! Stay tuned."

This seems to indicate that WWE will swing this into Bearer not being dead afterall.

Not to derail a thread but from someone who used to love wrestling, may I ask in this thread if Paul Orndorff is dead or alive? I heard he died but I forgot from what and I thought I saw him Monday at the movies in Eatontown, New Jersey.

Jynx is a little on the young side. To that end, let's see if this strikes the memory banmks...Paul Orndorf was one the WCW PowerPlant trainers who got some Nitro & Thunder airtime right around the time of the influx of young guys who would become the New Blood. Not 5'2" guy they referrred to as Sarge, but the other one. If that helps.

He was also a huge name back in the days of Hulk Hogan in the WWF, the first time around (circa 1985 or so).

I remember the rumor of Orndorff being dead was a hot topic around 1989. I still often wonder how the hell that got started.

I vaguely remember that story...was he the guy who was supposed to have died in a car accident?

As far as I know, he's still alive.

That goes for Paul Orndorf too.

I remember the article from the late 80's/early 90's was that he died in a bowling alley or something like that.

That
