View Full Version : From the island of Malta?
I have a coworker that once he found out I was a wrestling fan has been harrassing me with questions about wrestlers from the late 70's and early 80's. He's especially been harrassing me about about the wrestler that was from the island of Malta. I can't remember who this is, I know one of you will know.

And what title did he have?
He swore he had the IC title for years and refused to accept that the Honley Tonk man was the longest reigning one at 14 Months.

He only held tag titles in the US (WWWF US Tag titles with Smasher Sloan in the 60s & WWWF World Tag with King Iaukea in the 70s).
He held a World title in Australia, but never won a WWWF World title match during his feuds Bruno and Pedro Morales (and is Pedro the guy you're thinking of as arguing having thre longest IC title reign?).

No, when I mentioned Pedro he knew it wasn't him. And according to my almanac, he held it twice for a total of 8 months. HTM is still the longest reining.
Now he wants to know who had the worst won/lost record. He says either Joe Turco ot Fabulous Frank Minte.
I have no clue who these people are.

How sick is it that Randy Orton has been the longest reigning intercontinental champ since the HonkyTonk Man?
http://mysite.verizon.net/vze2wwdw/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/shuffle.jpg
When you become a "Pet Project" it's no surprise.
With them doing that Rock/Orton Promo on Raw, it made me think back to how much everybody hated Rocky Maivia when he debuted. How they said he had no talent, and even though I still don't like him, with a lot of work and image change, he became one of the biggest stars to ever be in the buisness.
So there is still hope for Randy Orton. And at least he is doing in ring interviews now, and not just pretapes.

The name that pops to mind right away is "Iron" MIke Sharp. I have never seen a wrestler lose as much as he did. I never saw him win a match.
