Americans think that English people pronounce 'd's as 't's, so when they say Wimbledon, they pronounce it Wimbleton, and think they're being all proper. Kind of like whenever someone on the news says a Spanish name and they over-emphasize the Spanish accent. Stop it, just say it in your normal voice. Trust me, you sound like a retard.
