Weird Halloween candy (aka "Mom Candy")

Remember getting home right
after a night of Trick or
Treating? Mom and Dad would
look through the candy first
before they'd give the green
light to indulge. I'd organize
all the candy-- all the Milky
Ways in one pile, the 3
Musketeers in another, and so
on. After a week or so the
only stuff left was the "Weird
stuff," or better still, the
stuff only mom would eat
(hence the term "Mom Candy").
Let's see, licorice was always
left, so were the Smarties,
Lifesavers, the MaryJanes
(although I do kinda like them).

I also remember bringing to
school my little cardboard box
of pennies we collected for
Unicef the day after
Halloween. The pincipal would
stand in the hallway as all
the kids dumped their pennies
into huge garbage pails. Do
kids still collect for Unicef?

Back in the 60's we all heard the stories about people putting razor blades and needles in the candy.
As for the UNICEF boxes, I confess: I kept the quarters, dimes and nickels, and only gave in the pennies. Wow, I feel so much better now! ;)

I used to look through my candy. And my mom gave out the best candy in the neighborhood, like 5 of those mini candys (snickers , crunch etc.).
The next day when i went to school , the kids would all go, "hey jay, youre mom gives out good candy."

Also, i used 2 love the houses that said "take 1 piece and leave."
CHEAP FU*KERS! I took 2 handfuls and left. Maybe if they werent so DUMB by leaving a bowl outside, and giving out 1 cheapo candy such as choclate sugar bombs which tasted like apples.

Another mom candy are those "peanut chews" and for some reason no one seems to ever eat their necco wafers, but I love those things!
I don' t know that I'd call smarties "mom candy" but they're definitley not the first thing you reach for.

The weirdest Halloween candy in my town was this thing called "cock." Your eyes had to be shut when you tasted it, you couldn't take it with you and you could only suck on it. It was like a weird lollypop thing.

I think im the only freak that loves those candies. I only like the orange ones tho not the pink or yellow or white ones. THey're so damn good. They're called "Circus Peanuts", and there is something not quite right about them, but they're so good.
