Mike, hate is a strong word...I'd say I fucking hate the yankees because, frankly, if it werent for them, the 90's woulda been OUR decade. It sucks to constantly come in 2nd in anything. How can a team that has more runs than any other team in the league come in 2nd??!! I'll tell ya how--the fucking yankees. And it's not just that they win, it's that they, and their fans, feel entitled to win.
But to answer your query, I'll just say that yes, I personally will still hate the yankees because they will say that it was a fluke, then the next year we win, itll be luck, etc etc etc.
By the way, you say if and when, and finally. fyi--we've already won a few. But itll be nice to win one or two in my lifetime. I'm not asking to win forever...I mean, hey--I'm no yankee fan.

I DO hate the abuse and harassment. I'm sick of the "1918" and "Curse of the Bambino" crap.

Then again, much of this is brought on by idiot Sox fans who start the "Yankees Suck" chants and wear the "Jeter Swallows/Jeter Has AIDS" shirts. Why bring on the abuse? Why talk shit you can't back up?

Maybe if these people would direct their hatred at Boston management for their long history of making shitty draft picks and trades, they might field a team that could win a championship.
