Could someone who is Jpanese wrestling savy tell me what 3 belts comprise the Triple Crown.

How did this come about and who is considered the best TC holder to date?

Any stand-out wins/title defenses?

All Japan Pro-Wrestling's Triple Crown are 3 heavyweight titles which are...
-PWF Heavyweight Championship
-NWA International Heavyweight Championship
-NWA United National Heavyweight Championship

The belts were united as one championship in 1989, between unification matches between Stan Hansen, Jumbo Tsuruta & Genichiro Tenryu. If I remember correctly all 3 were used as All Japan's as their top heavyweight title one time or another.

Best champion is based on opinion, get some tapes of All Japan from 1989-2000, then you can base your own opinion. Many say Mitsuharu Misawa, some say Toshiaki Kawada and others may say Kenta Kobashi or Akira Taue.

Misawa would probably be my choice as the best. Personally, Kawada is my favorite of the golden age All Japan wrestlers, but his title reigns were generally shorter and less eventful than Misawa's.
