In your oppinion, who is funnier? Andy Kaufman or Woody Allen?
Kaufman's button pushing instincts are top shelf.
Allen has never made me come close to laughing.
WHO is your weirdo of choice?

Andy.

That Jim Carrey movie is just a remake of some specials that used to air on Comedy Central before "Man on the Moon" came out, then for some reason they stopped airing those specials.

Some of Woody's early stuff is good, but his later stuff is just sad. When he put himself in a movie with a good looking love intrest it should be illegal. I seem to remember Shannon Elisabeth playing a character who was dating Woody's character.

My only recollection of Andy Kaufman is from those Saturday Night Live skits when he has that weird voice and from Taxi, and I never really found him to be all that funny. So I'm going to have to tip my hat to Woody Allen even though he got weird and not as funny as he got older, and his earlier stuff was a lot more funny to me.

1. Woody Allen
2. Andy Kaufman

different styles provide different smiles. Andy actually made me laugh with the "mighty mouse song skit" and when he opened up one of his shows and began to act like his feelings were hurt and he kept repeating something and broke into a song and a beat on his bongo...

Woody has an endless amount of funny one-liners...

Snoogans, have you seen ANY of Allen's old standup? Or ANY of his movies for the first 15 years or so of his filmmaking career? The guy was whipping off jokes and one-liners left and right...basically he was a "smart" Rodney Dangerfield (Not that Dangerfield isn't brilliant in his own right!). Allen hasn't really made anything THAT funny in about ten years ("Deconstructing Harry" and "Mighty Aphrodite" were OK), but for the first 20 years of his career, be it stand up, books or movies, Allen KILLED.

Kaufman was cool, but I wouldn't really ever compare him to Allen or any other coemdian. He was too out there...more of a performance artist than anything else.

i'm sure you heard them if you watched some of his movies it's just that everyone is different and a joke that tickles one guys/gals funny bone does nothing for some other guys/gals funny bone...

how about in "Take The Money And Run" when Woody makes the fake gun out of soap and uses it to escape from prison, only as he's walking behind the two guards and goes outside it's raining out. When they get to the outside gate the guards turn around and Woody's got nothing but a bunch of suds in his hand...

it's a killer...
