Hey all, I guess due to the fact O&A are off the air Mohr hasn't been getting the cheap plugs he is used to, but he has a great book that just came out this week called "gasping for Airtime: Two years in the trenches of SNL"
It is ironic because about two weeks ago I picked up "Live From NY: An Uncensored History of SNL" by Tom Shales and James Miller. This is a wildly entertaining book, but I found myself wondering if I was gonna see any interviews with Breuer or Mohr and was slightly disappointed when I didn't. I figured they were just not well enough known for their work on SNL.
So yesterday I go into my local B&N to grab some beach reading and there in the New Non-Fiction in hardback is Jay's face staring at me. As soon as I saw I grabbed it, read 1 chapter and bought it. I am almost done with the book now and it is awesome. He is his usual witty self, but you also see the side of Jay that really had to pay his dues.
I would recommend reading both of these books in the order I did. Live Fom NY begins a year before SNL made it's debut and ends in 2002. Mohr's book picks up with his time there and gives you a great behing the scenes look as well. Just make sure you grab the Mohr book soon so he sees some coin on the hardback sales.
