Boffins at Britain's Ministry of Defence have invented an electric 'force field' designed to protect armoured vehicles against anti-tank grenades. (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2002/08/19/boffins_invent_grenade_vaporising_electric/)
sounds pretty cool...i wonder when they will start to develop mech warrior type machines for battle..

Marge, you're standing in the way of my boyhood dream of managing a beautiful country singer!
Your boyhood dream is to eat the world's biggest hoagie! And you did it at the county fair last year, remember!?

Now if only they could invent a toothpaste that their general populace would use.

But isn't it better to fry some silly fuck or hand grenade as it heads in your direction than to make it bounce off like a dodge-ball?
I want one of these for squeegee-guys and birdshit.

Of course its better...but its still not a "force field"...it's just a high voltage electric current running through the metal...
