Probably this one.
Sad thing about his death is that he never saw it coming.

MSNBC reports that Charles died of liver disease.
Hey booze hound you got to learn how to put the booze down.
Despite that it is still ironic that we lost both Reagan and Charles in the same week.
Hey booze hound you got to learn how to put the booze down.
I'm very offended by that!!!
I think Ray Charles should be put on the 10 dollar bill.

I really liked Ray Charles a lot. He did an album in the early 60's called Modern Sounds In Country & Western Music-which was totally different then anything else he use to do. It has some great Hank Williams and Ed Arnold covers. I have a few of his other records but this one was amazing. He really was very cool. http://www.michaelromanos.com/pictures/musicians/ray_charles.jpg
RIP

I wonder what Elvis Costello thought about Ray Charles?
Ray Charles is a true legend, and one of the most soulful singers ever.
I'll never forget the 2003 Willie Nelson and Friends concert where Ray performed Leon Russel's "A Song For You." Willie just stood there staring at him and began weeping. Gives me chills just thinking about it.
RIP, Ray.

I always admired Ray Charles, he really had a piss poor beginning and made his way to the top with dignity and grace. His songs and style defined a music segment that he blazed the trail for. Godspeed Mr Charles! RIP

Wow i was amazed at the callers, even black earl; Ron and Fez were asking legit Qs about Ray and no one was giving them answers.
They wondered how/when he was blind, as far as I can tell it was glaucoma that hit him around age 5 to 7. Then enrolled in a school for the blind, learned to read and write music in braille. Charted in thhe 50s with what might me his best song ever, 'I got a Woman' for Atlantic. Some say it started, and/or defined 'Soul' music. 13 Grammys, and last year he played what they estimated, and celebrated as his, get ready for this: 10,000TH Concert.
He loved to play. He basically lived in his studio; which is now a historic building or something. Oh and his birth name; Ray Charles Robinson.
He was, as another thread says: Eternally Cool.
