What idiots are still watching reality shows?

I mean in the beginning with Survivor it was a curiousity factor. Now years later who the hell cares? I do not give a crap if some moron wants to marry another moron, or some vain idiot wants a makeover via plastic surgery. The worst part is they have more in the pipeline. Only complete idiots watch other nitwits eat worms, try to become a stuntperson, or marry a complete stranger.

I had hoped that this would die down quicky but only seems to be fueling itself.
Are people still watching? Why? If you are, pretend you have some sense and watch something with more substance. Jeez.

I still have to watch the Real World & Road Rules. And damn proud of it, too!

I don't watch Survivor as much, because it went up against Friends. The only other reality shows I'll probably end up watching over the summer are Big Brother, Simple Life and Last Comic Standing

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Apprentice. I didn't have any intentions of watching this at first, but I ended up loving it.

I watched the Apprentice when that was on, and I watch Last comic Standing. Other than those 2 I could care less about the new survivors, who wants to marry my dad, bachelor, and any of that other shit they keep promoting. Theres a few good reality shows but the 82 others ones that are god awful give them a bad name...

i don't think the question is 'still' ...

there have been articles of late regarding the demise of the sitcom format as the new fall line-ups are abundant with reality shows ...

as long as they generate profit, we're stuck with them ... they're cheap, easy to produce and deliver huge fistfuls of cash ...

until they run dry, or some one dies as a result of these shows, they'll be around for a long time ...

Welcome to June and the start of summer programming. Prepare for a new slew of "reality" based programming with a bunch of wannabes hanging around some house waiting for their 15 minutes to knock on the door, when in reality it should be Tony Soprano on the porch with a shotgun.

They fucking suck. The extent of my Reality TV viewing is American Idol until they kick off all the good looking women and you're left with misshapen orangutans and pudgy little girls, and Last Comic Standing. And now that I know the little tidbit of who won't be in the house, I don't think I'll be watching that much longer.

What baffles me is, how the hell did this kind of programming pick up the label of "REALITY" television... when in fact, those kind of shows are the absolute furthest thing FROM reality.

Not that I am a huge reality TV fan, I only watched the Apprentice and Last comic standing in the past year, but I can not see Sit-coms ever coming back like they used to be. They are just WAY to predictable and all of the plots have been done a million times.

How many time can it be the prom, 2 people are setting up and they get trapped in a basement/closet somewhere. Throw in a little phone message mistakes that cause a huge problems but they person fixes it, and a serious topic like death or kid touching, and you have any sitcom ever made. No wonder people do not want to watch them, they are boring as hell.

Reality TV is staged, but at least it is always a different premise with different people.

Bashing reality shows implied that the crappy sitcoms and dramas on TV have some value. They suck as well. If you find a genre that is less sucky than others then why not watch it and enjoy it?

Reality shows aren't exactly competing with Shakespeare.

The only reality shows worth watching, Last Comic Standing, just to see how many hacks are traveling around the country, and Mad Mad House. That show was cool. Unfortunalty, the best part of the show was the fisrt episode, about 5 minutes in, when the guest saw the Alts for the first time. The look on their faces was priceless.
