Worthless thread ahoy. However, I'd rather read about this than something else. Entertain me, I'm bored.

All right, kids, what'd you have for breakfast this week?

I have a varied assortment of cereals in my cabinet.

- Shop Rite Knockoff Cap'n Crunch

- Shop Rite Knockoff Grape Nuts

- Raisin Bran

- Frosted Mini-Wheats

Orange juice: Tropicana Pure Premium with Vitamin C and Calcium Added

Milk: Sealtest Skim Plus, the skim milk that has a mouth-feel of 2%.

I also have Nutri-grain bars, chewy granola bars, and yogurt.

I usually skip breakfast or eat it late. Sometimes frosted miniwheats with some coffee. Sometimes eggs with sausage at 4AM after going out. But tomorrow I have the day off, so I am going to the diner. I'll get the Hungry Man Special. Three eggs, hash browns, choice of meat, and choice of toast, pancakes, or biscuits and gravy. I usually get toast, but tomorrow it's gonna be biscuits and gravy. Tenbatsuzen's thread has me craving them.

Well this morning i didnt have to work so I decided to make breakfast.

We always have a supply of pancake mix(krusteaz).

And i noticed we had some older bananas that could not be used for what we usually do.

Instead of making banana bread(since we dont have a loaf pan yet)

So i started with making up some caramel sauce. That i susually make for bananas foster

(brown sugar, butter; melt them, add some banana liquor, then let it boil for a bit. Then add some dark rum(usually meyers) then flame and reduce a bit.)

Then i let that sit aside while i was making the pancake mix.

Then I mushed up the nanner and placed that into the mix.

The first one i did was an experiment. I put a little batter in the pan and then on that i put some of the caramel sauce. then a little bit more pancake mix over that so it would burn when flipped.

That was great as is.

Then i watered the batter down a bit. Not crepes like but thinner.

Then put that in the pan and let that cook. then flipped it. Then i smeared the caramel sauce onto the cooked side and let it cook.

after it cooked i took it out of the pan. Then put some more mushed banana into the center. Rolled it like a burrito (with out the end folded of course) then over that I put more of the sauce.

It was amazing.

Bananas Foster Pancakes.
mmmmm

Dude!

that sounds just delicious!

i came up with something that sounds crazy, but is really good

make 2 servings of white corn meal, as if you were making cream of wheat
cook it in whole milk, not water

when thick, stir in
2 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup of creamy peanut butter (smuckers natural)
2-3 tablespoons of white sugar

makes 1 large serving
and is extremely delicious
even though it sounds gross

Statistically, if you have something with a high protein content (like eggs or even a freakin' egg white omelette if you're watching your cholesterol) you will stay full longer and therefore will consume fewer calories through the day. I know that if I have an omelette or scrambled eggs for breakfast myself I don't need to snack as frequently as I might had I only had some cereal or a bagel.

Unfortunately, I don't have time in the morning to make eggs before work, so I keep packets of instant oatmeal in my filing cabinet and bring a bowl & spoon from home so I can mix it up when I arrive at the office. It's not as much protein as eggs, but everybody knows cooking eggs in the microwave is just disgusting.

It's by no means authentic southern cooking but the biscuits and gravy from IHOP weren't bad.

The place I went to today has biscuits and gravy but they do the Italian twist on it and I'm not a fan.

They use sweet Italian sausage and also put some tomato sauce in the gravy.

Not bad as a lunch/dinner meal but a sham as a breakfast food.

Well I use my toast to dip in the yolks and eat the dry yolk center once the liquid is all gone. Jelly doesn't go with yolk in my opinion so I wouldn't use it. If I was just eating toast by itself or with a meal with no eggs, I'd probably butter and jelly it.
