A conversation with a buddy of mine over some of the crap we used to listen to when we were younger brought to light memories of a record my Mom bought for me when I was somewhere around 8 years old. The whole concept was kids singing the pop hits of the time. I can remember that "Video Killed The Radio Star" & "Celebration" were on the record, but that's all I can recall. The only other thing I remember is that the album cover was pictures of kids dressed as the impersonated stars. It might've actually been a product of K-Tel Records sold on TV for $9.95, but I couldn't say for sure.
I know I'm grasping at straws by posting this here, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try.

I got a letter from the army so I think that I'll enlist. I'm not brave or proud of nothing I just want to kill something.

badorties, you fuckin' rule all over the place.
I kept thinking it was something like Kid Pop or Kid Rock (but I refused to type that into a search engine for fear of getting 9 billion Joe C Tribute sites), but Minipops was it. I guess "Celebration" wasn't on it after all. I can't even believe you found that so quick. I was searching all morning between working, but couldn't find spit. Awesome, man. Thank you so much. Now to track down a copy of this pile of shit so I can listen to it and laugh at myself for caring about a such piece of garbage.

I sure do.
This is honestly great. I can't get over the fact that something that seemed like an impossible task a few hours ago (and I'm just talking finding the name of the record, I wasn't even thinking finding a copy of the record was a possibility) was basically done for me by the members of this board is awesome. I'll stop with the homolovefest now. I just wanted to reiterate how awesome I think you all are for helping me out like this.

PS - I can't wait to actually hear this record again, and realize I hate it so much that I have to smash it into 1000 pieces just minutes after getting it.

Hey, few things are cooler then finding that weird, rare album [now CD] you once liked and its utterly gone, vanished, and then boom, there it is.

Sweet. Especially in the used bins!

I'm honestly an idiot.

Of course I'm not in the best mindstate after having to leave my little girl alone in the hospital after visiting hours, but I should've checked the auction status anyway. l mean hell, I came here to post about it, why didn't I bother checking the auction itself? I didn't realize the auction end time was Pacific Standard Time, not Eastern Standard Time. I thought I had already lost and was busy complaining, while I could have been getting my precious Minipops back from hottubjonny (I hear ya). Fuck!!!!

with luck, a vinyl collector will check the auctions, see that you missed out and contact you with one they have for auction, or maybe to buy. its happened to me when i was outbid at last second.

Excellent reference to that killer episode of "Married With Children." I met Richard Nader once and I rold him about that episode and he loved it.

Hey, does anyone remember a song from the mid-70s that was on one of those K-Tel records. It was some rock song where one of the singer's yodeled in it.

Hottub - he has a kid in the hospital for God's sake! Give him the album!

He can't be lying because only a soulless piece of shit would lie about his daughter being in the hospital.

Browntown - I hope your kid feels better soon.

The only song from the 70's with yodeling that I know if 'Hocus Pocus' by Focus.

Edit: go <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000033RA/ref%3Dnosim/obscursongsfromt/102-2699286-8116125">here</a> to listen to a clip.
You can also listen to a clip of 'Amie' by Pure Prarie League!

My God, am I a dumbass or what?

I was thought it was kind of weird that the winner of the auction was named HotTubJonny, but I figured that there were plenty of Dice fans out there and it was just a bizarre coincidence. I didn't even realize that was RonFez.net regular HotTub that won it even though he flat out told me he did it.

Not any more!

Sorry Brownie, Just breakin' balls!

You son of a bitch, that worked out to be way funnier than it originally should have because I'm a retard. My brain really just isn't working right these days. Too fucking funny. Nice work.
I'm assuming that you don't really want the record (though you never know - I've hyped it up so much, you many decide that you actually need it now), so you can just give the seller my e-mail address.

I got a letter from the army so I think that I'll enlist. I'm not brave or proud of nothing I just want to kill something.
