I was rooting for the Flames because I like Ignila. However, it was nice to see the American team come out on top and Anderchuck lifting the cup was nice to see from a Devils fan standpoint of watching one of our former players lift the Cup. The bottom line is the Cup will returen to New Jersey after next season (or whenever the NHL decides they wanna play hockey next).

I second that notion.

Oh yeah, and congrats to Tampa Bay, it was a much better series than the ratings will show.

And the Stanley Cup is the greatest trophy in sports.

And the Stanley Cup is the greatest trophy in sports.

I am bored to death by hockey (though I hear I'll be cured of that the minute I attend a game instead of trying to watch on TV), and I agree that the Stanley Cup is the best trophy going. The fact that the Dave Andreychuk raised the same trophy over his head that was awarded in the 1800's is pretty friggin' cool. History always adds to the majesty, and there isn't a more historic trophy. I wish they never changed any of the NWA or WWF Title Belts for the same reason (yeah, I know it's Sports Entertainment, but it's the same concept). It'd be cool as hell to see Benoit wearing the same belt that Sammartino wore.

I got a letter from the army so I think that I'll enlist. I'm not brave or proud of nothing I just want to kill something.

the stanley cup is not only the classiest and best looking, but also probably the oldest actual trophy given in proffesional sports.

it was brought to NJ and showed during the cup years and as far as sports goes, i had no better feeling, basbeall hall, bball hall, none better than when i was lookin up close at the cup

The NHL screwed Calgary out of the cup. The goal in game six(yea, I'm going to call it a goal)would have given the Flames that game. The penalty called in the third period of game seven was shit. You don't call a penalty that late.

Florida is no place for hockey. I'm happy that they were getting people to watch, but theres no real ice don't there ever.

Jarome Iginla is one of the most stand up guys in sports.

I touched the stanley cup and it was the most amazing feeling ever.

The NHL screwed Calgary out of the cup. The goal in game six(yea, I'm going to call it a goal

except keith, you're not using your sense.
you cant say for sure that it was a goal, cause you never saw an angle that shows. all the angle's you saw are skewed cause they are at an angle.

its like if your in a car passenger seat, and you look at the speedometer, it looks a few higher than its actually reading because your at the angle.
so, if you wanna be technical, nobody knows if that puck was in, or if you saw white cause the puck was just in the air at a bad angle.

therefore its INCUCLUSIVE, and you cant give a goal to a team cause your PRETTY SURE it was in

also, the NHL didnt screw up. it was the ref who made the call. its inclusive, so if it had been originally called a goal, it woulda stayed a goal, and since it was originally called a non goal, it stayed that way. all the NHL said is they dont have enough evidence to change the call.

and btw, i dont see anyone still bitching from buffalo about the goal that hull scored that actually went through the side of the net.
how soon we forget, every team at some point has been screwed by refs, so i cry no tears for the Flames

So just because the NHL fucked up with the goal against Buffalo makes it ok for them to fuck up the call with Calgary?

Both were shit. Buffalo got fucked too.

As for being glad that Anderchuck winning the cup because he was an e Devil, fuck him. He did nothing for us when he was a part of the Devil's. I mean, cool and all, he got a cup, but I'm not happy that they won.

you really dont listen
the NHL has nothing to do with it. the ref made the no goal call, and the NHL jut said there is not enough evidence to change it, they didnt say it didnt go in, thats 1

and no, i used the buffalo point to say it happens alot, and people get over it, and calgary will get over it. Human error is part of sports, and has been sicne they began, IN EVERY SPORT

you dont know the puck was in, cause it was in the air. It may have been in, it may not. THE REF said its not, and the NHL cant make a momumental, as well as unprecedented change of the call based on a maybe

DEAL WITH IT

I coulda swore the Sabres were pissed because they thought he was "in the crease" when he was following up his shot, but you're allowed to be in the crease when you are following up your shot...

that was a different game, where just the tip of the skate was in and the actually dissallowed that goal, even though he wasnt interfering in anyway.
thats the game that led them to change that rule to its only waved off if you interfered.

on a seperate play in game 7, bret hull scored, ill be it relatively early in the 3rd, and the puck was actually about 4 inches outside the post and went through the net. it was called a goal, even after replay, which was blatently obvious.
the goal ended up standing as the winner and didnt make folks in buffalo happy

the ruyle used to be that your skates could be in the crease if the puck was in the crease. now you can be in the crease whenever you want as long as you dont cause a problem for the goalie

The ref's are part of the NHL. Forget the goal. The penalty called with 1.01 remaing was horrible. You don't call a penalty that late in a playoff game. Especially not game seven in the Stanley Cup finals with a one goal margin.

keith you are a moron. you dont call normal penalties in playoff games, you let that stuff go. he hit st louis in the face with the shaft of his stick and cut his face in 3 different spots. you call that anytime, you cant not call it and possibly explain yourself after the game

It wasn't a high sticking call. It was a charging. It was a bullshit call. Just because he bleeds it's a penalty?

actually yea, if you bother to learn the game.

bleeding not only commonly draws penalties, but is the rule book difference between a 2 minute minor and 5 minute major plus game misconduct for high sticking.

and he did charge him, according to the rule. he ran the guy, you cant take more than 3 direct strides at a guy and then level him, thats called charging

it was a penalty, and cause of your last 2 points, im pretty positive it wasnt a goal now either

That's why Saprykin's hit on LeCavalier turned out to be such a big deal....he busted him open...

Actually, i was waiting for them to call unsportsmanlike on Iginla...man was he giving Fraser the 3d degree....

And how can we not talk about Kerry Fraser and not mention his impeccable hair?

good point, not only on the unmovable jimmy johnson like hair, but that he didnt call one on iginla

most ref's would have, so keith, if anything, he was pretty lenient on the play
