no buybacks

just saw dave attell at the downtown in farmingdale, he's damn funny. only complaints i have have nothing to do with the talent but the bar. why do bars not buy back? i spent $80 bucks on drinks between 2 people and 4 drinks a piece, including tips, and not one fucking buyback? my last drink i waited 15 minutes for the fucking Coke to be changed on a rum and coke, and no freebie.

as someone who used to work in a coffee shop for TIPS. for coffee i'd give away freebies... FOR COFFEE! i wasn't ALLOWED to, but i would. why give me tips then? i work for a salary. i would do it because i want you to
A) be happy
B) because of your happiness leave me a bigger tip that i can put in my pocket.

from now on i am not giving a tip after a 3rd drink. FUCK YOU, on my fourth time comin up to the bar, and you made 20 bucks worth of tips off of me, you better be buying me a 5 dollar beer. i know these bartenders make a shift pay of about 30 bucks a night as well as these tips. well you can't buy back cuz you'll get fired then, oh well tell the bar to change the policy because no one should be tipping you for a drink they overpaid for anyway.

sorry bout giving a rant about a dumb subject when i can go to a bar that they actually do buy back at. But this upsets me.

Also happens at mulcahy's in wantaugh.
been to college row on hempstead turnpike, and because i tip well, i get body shots off hot female bartenders, and i am not a good looking man.

and unfortunately i will go back to the downtown, because there is no other place to see a halfway decent band, either on its way up or on it's way down. but i won't tip the bartenders there anymore,or at mulcahys (my favorite place to go, BTW) they will get my money for the liquor and that's it.
BUY BACK DRINKS YOU"LL GET TIPS. IF YOUR NOT ALLOWED TO BUY BACK FIND A BAR THAT WILL LET YOU TO WORK AT.

my favorite is jonny mcgories in massapequa. a train stop but i lived up the street; i was getting shots of 15 yr jameson for the price of a reg shot ($3) plus they have the best shepards pie on li(and the rest of ny). all irish bartenders who are mad chill. most places on li, most of which i worked, won't do buy backs. it's just bar policy.

I HATE bars that don't buy back drinks. If I'm going out drinking and having 8-10 drinks a night I want at least 1 for free, that's all, not that big of a deal. Thankfully I've found a bar very close to me that now treats me like royality since I go there so much. I pay about 6 bucks to drink all night long and all I do is take care of the bartender before I leave. It's much better than anything else i've found out there.

Just keep an eye out...if you haven't gotten the buyback once you hit $50-60, quit trying for it. I figure that's a good window of figures to shoot for, since I'm spending that much on drinks regardless when I go out. If you want more drinks, pay for them...just don't expect the free round if you haven't gotten it at that point.

At the K Lounge in the basement of Karava's, I spent close to like $180 on drinks last year, I guess it was at Alkey's birthday party. Not one fucking buyback, and I tipped the barmaid after every drink I bought.

the dude that puts a twin in my hand at the beginning of the night get vip treatment all night long.

and even if you have management watching over you, you should be able to meet your register requirements and put something in your pockets too.

shit, when i worked at the vanderbilt, we had a no buy back policy, but i was still able to beat people in register and tips on the side.

Now you guys know why I frequent the same bars over and over again like Red Rock. Im not saying I expect to be given shit for free all the time but the bartenders should hook up those they see spending money in their establishment and doing the right thing by them. I cant stand Mulcahy's. I used to go there all the time but finally got fed up with the bartenders their. I hate going to a place and waiting and waiting for a drink. I can understand if the place is busy and you have to wait a few. Alot of bars in Long Island are like that. I never have to worry about waiting or a buy back at places like Red Rock, Coyote, Doc Hollidays, Bellvue.....

They know how to treat their patrons.

My bartender always hooks me up. Third drink always free plus free drinks after closing time. Usually lets the regulars hang out afterhours. Good people.


Edit: As for buybacks at other bars - If I'm not having one by the fifth or sixth drink, I just stop tipping or move on.

mulcahy'sThey would and will never buy back. I have to freinds over there who wont even hook me up never the less there mother or father, but they hook up themsleves. Whenever Id go in with either freind we'd get hooked up great. The trick is though its only sundays during football games,and you had to be at a table not the bar. AS far as buybacks goes in general, dont feel bad down here you get NOTHING! Allthough the beer flows like water and is about that cheap, you still get nothing, so dont feel bad. Oh and if you're ever at RJDaniels formally Lily Flanagans in Rockville Centre, tell the bar tenders your good freinds with "SCUBA STEVE" that should get you a free cold one or two. And if you get the bar tender named Jimmy , tell hom to go fuck him self, nice guy no what I mean?

As a drinker, I hate not getting buy backs. As a bartender, I hate not giving them. Unfortunately, depending on the bar and the crowd that comes in, you're not going to get them everywhere you go and you're definately not going to get them at a bar that doesn't rely on repeat business.

It's not the bartender that decides whether or not they're going to give you a buy back. If the bar management allows buy backs, then you should expect 1 free for every 3 you buy.

Much as I'd like to do it, if I'm specifically told "no buy backs", I don't do it. If I'm having a really good night, I will take out of my tip jar and actually pay for drinks for a group that has outdone themselves.

I love hearing the story that goes like this: "The bartender knew us, it was like our 4th time there and he still didn't buy anything back." Ok then dumbass, go somewhere else. There are tons of bars and bartenders that would gladly exchange beer for tips, find one.

I don't think I've gone to a bar yet where I haven't gotten buybacks.

Since I just moved to PA a while ago, I started to frequent this bar nearby. I tipped well the first night, and then another. On the third night they gave me so many free shots and put so much liquor in my drinks that I Only bought two drinks and a couple shots. I was pretty lit. Now I only have to buy a couple drinks anytime I go, due to how strong they are.

and now that's a GREAT bartender. with that i'm leaving a bigger tip for your split at the end of the night, AND the drink is still getting paid for.
what really irked me was waiting for the coke to be changed and not getting a free drink, i missed 10-15 minutes of good standup to make sure this bartender didn't take my money, and say i never ordered it. i didn't pay 25 dollars a ticket to miss 15 minutes.
