This isn't as big as it sounds. He's just gonna be replaced with someone else who is just as much of a corporate douchebag, and the tight FCC rules (which are the real source of the problem) are still gonna be in place. So whoever replaces him will be just as whipped by the government as Mel was.

HAHaHa! I officially know the son of the President of Viacom. Tom Freston's son goes to my school.

I don't listen to Stern anymore, so someone tell me - has he blamed this on the Republicans yet?

Don't blame me....I voted for Kodos.
I look forward to an orderly election that will eliminate the need for a violent bloodbath. </center>

Mel was an amazing advocate for the radio division. There's scuttle that CBS may unload Infinity now - who knows what this could mean if that happens.

As it was, CBS seemed to have more to lose when Congress took out a pound of their flesh, with the radio division as a potential liability. Could Infinity, on it's own without the backing of a larger media giant, survive the pressure, or will they have to be sold to another big boy, like Disney or Fox, in order just to exist?

Mel was a wonderful buffer, and while he made some questionable decisions, seemed to really believe in radio.

I don't listen to Stern anymore, so someone tell me - has he blamed this on the Republicans yet?

Good to see that you remain consistent. Thanks for participating in the discussion.

If you don't listen, then why do you care?

Share a laugh...and a smile...

If Mel "made Infinity what it is today," I wish him nothing but misery and suffering, since Infinity is just one half of the giant coin that made radio the barren wasteland of shit it is today.
