Nice to see not everyone is down on him... (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1811585)
So how long before he starts having problems with Baron Davis?

um...
The New Orleans Hornets introduced Byron Scott as the team's new head coach Friday, with team owner George Shinn saying he fulfilled his goal to hire a "proven winner."

I have too much pride to be that wrong and to let everyone see. But hey, now only a small group of you know, and that makes it more special.

Why did you think that he signed with that team instead of the Hornets though? It said New Orleans pretty clearly on the top... :)

I have no idea why I thought that. I didnt read the article, just heard it mentioned a million times the last few days on TV. For some reason I thought he signed with Charlotte.

nope. i forget his name but charlottes gm and coach are one in the same. whihc i think is a smart way to ensure your team sucks for many years to come. teams need gms who will work with coaches, not actual coaches.
yeah, but to stay on topic was i the only person who watched the finals last year? am i the only one who saw that byron scott, is black, bald pat riley with one exception, he cant coach? i mean come the fuck on he made more mistakes coaching the nets than i have ever seen any coach in any sport make. someone in the past had mentioned grady little, and i say no. little made one error, just one mistake, and in one game, scott made about 5 mistakes in the first game against the spurs. worst coach ever!!! chaney is fucking better and that is sad.
and you expect this guy to win in the West?

Well, this I'm sure of--New Orleans is an Eastern Conference team.

next year due to the expansion, the hornets will be placed in the western division.

Wow. I-I-I don't know what to say. Ehhh. That last ones not too bad though. I just fail to see how New Orleans is "western". I think the nba would do a lot of good to contract about 4 teams. I'll say Clippers, Grizzlies, Raptors, and the Warriors.
Redraw the divisons and hold a dispersal draft. Much more competition. Better all the way around.

You gotta have at least 1 franchise in Canada...and now that the Grizzlies and Warriors started to play well you want to contract them? I dunno....personally I feel that you should keep the 4 divisions and have a baseball type playoffs. The winners of each division only.

The winners of each division only.
then there would be no true upsets. no nuggets beating the sonics or knicks beating the heat. upsets make playoffs more gooder.
there is really only one team that needs to contracted and that is the hawks. and there shouldnt be a new charlotte franchise. they didnt care about the hornets why would they care about the bobcats?

Yes but those upsets happen so rarely, and in order to see an upset once in a while you have to bear through games/series like Knicks/Nets or Indiana/Boston. If not the division leaders then at least cut it on half and have the top 4 teams from each conference rather than top 8.

Ok, I've had a couple days to think about this. Fine. Keep the teams. But Scrap the current playoff system. All these best of 7 series really take the excitement out--the best team will always win. There needs to be a new system. Now a tournament would not be viable, but the rounds should be set up 3-5-5-7. The opening round would be 3 games, the next two, including the conference championship, would be best of 5, and the finals would be 7.
