BREAKING: Austin Signs With TNA
Reported By Corey Coumo
5/27/2004
We don't have much details on this right now, but are working on getting some big specifics as we speak, but it's official that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has signed with NWA-TNA. He will be at their debut television show on FOX Sports Net.

Austin/McMahon Update - "Stone Cold"?
Monday May 27, 2004
To update on the situation between Steve Austin and Vince McMahon, there have been phone conversations between Steve Austin and Vince McMahon over the last several weeks about a possible return. As of this time, there's no word of anything being imminent.
Vince called Austin last week and made mention that if it were up to him, Austin could have the rights to the "Stone Cold" name to use for his other ventures - most importantly the possibility of Austin working for Dream Stage Entertainment.
Unfortunately, Vince told Austin that the stockholders would never agree to it, therefore it seems as though the rights will stay with Vince and the WWE. If Austin does indeed get picked up by Dream Stage, he will most likely just work under the name "Steve Austin" and not use any of the "Stone Cold" ring mannerisms.
Sources whom we talked to have told us that Vince McMahon's mood about Austin changes regularly based on various different things such as RAW house show advances and the ratings. Another example of this is on RAW this week when Chris Jericho mentioned Steve Austin's name, there was no crowd pop. It's simple things like this that Vince does to see how the fans feel about Austin right now.

Since Austin & Jarrett legitinately hate each other, I really doubt that they'd work together, especially with JJ calling the shots. But then stranger things have happened.

I think Austin signing with TNA would be good for them. Theyd definitely get more ratings if hes there, despite being in an awful timeslot, and theyll be able to stick it to McMahon if they would be able to pull it off and make it work...

Wouldn't Austin cost more than their entire roster and he can't use stone cold. Guarantee he is back on raw by summerslam.

Austin would only be worth it if he could actually wrestle a regular schedule.
He can't.
So he's not.
He's not even really a draw anymore. They don't need to hire the guy and pay him God knows how much for him to just trot out each week and stun someone - which is all he's good for at this point, as again, he can't work a regular schedule.

Don't blame me....I voted for Kodos.
I look forward to an orderly election that will eliminate the need for a violent bloodbath. </center>
