View Full Version : Worst......Graduation........EVER!
Today was my graduation from Monmouth University. I usually don't post personal stuff, but I really need to vent. It was held at the PNC Bank Arts Center. They told us to be there at 12:15. They said it would start at 1:00. In reality, they had all the graduates standing outside, in the rain, not under any cover whatsoever, until 2:00. By the time we got to our seats our mortarboards (caps) were so soaked they were drooping on all four sides. And, oh yeah, WE WERE ALL FUCKING SOAKED!
And the whole time there was, in our view, a huge tent where the faculty and other university honchos were all having a blast taking their sweet ass time.
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! They let graduates bring as many people as they wanted seeing as they'd have PLENTY of seats. Guess what. People had to sit on the grass, in the rain. Or stand the whole time.
And some asshole state policeman wouldn't let my mother park in a handicapped spot even though she has a state hangtag. So she had to push my father in his wheelchair all the way from the back of the parking lot.
I don't have what some would call an ideal health situation. I get a cold from a stiff breeze. Even slight humidity causes me difficulty breathing. My back muscles are fucked up from years and years of coughing so bad you can't imagine. I can't stand for more than a hour without getting some serious back pain. So you can imagine what standing outside, in the rain, for 2 hours would do to me. Needless to say, I sit here typing with pain all over my body, my head throbbing, and I can already feel the next infection cooking itself up in my lungs.
So, basically, they took what should have been one of the most memorable days of my life and literally turned it into one of the worst days in my life. And I just know that I'm going to get a call from these schmucks pretty soon begging me for more money.

At least your graduation didn't have the mayor turn into a giant snake and the senior class have to fight an army of vampires.
My college graduation had some stupid twat talk way too long. When she stopped to take a breathe, every single graduate applauded to get her off the stage. It didn't work. Les Paul received an honorary degree, said 5 words and we went fucking nuts. He could have talked for hours and he would have been the only speaker we gave any respect to.

i remember crying at my 2 year graduation from cobleskill, because one of my best friends/boyfriends there died that year, and it was just real damn hard. I couldnt stop the tears. That was probably the hardest year of my life
i was high during my college graduation from oneonta, so i dont remember much of that. Except, I got laid.
I went to Jon's graduation at NJIT a year or so ago, where he received his masters. I was/am very proud of my ex-poopie, but they called out every fucking graduate's name....which took a year and a half. I wish I was on something to take away the pain of that.
But congrats to you, Hbox.

I am graduating from NJIT, and the ceromony is basically saying every gradutes name. And they are all Indian or chinese, so you can not even understand them. I am not going to walk at mine though.
Also, congrats man, no matter how shitty the day was.

I remember my graduation. Me and all my friends told our friend Pee-Wee that we were gonna go naked under our gowns, but really we just pulled the legs of our pants up so it looked like we had nothing on underneath. Anyway, so Pee-Wee, completely naked under his gown, goes up to get his diploma and . . . Wait. Sorry, that wasn't me. Nevermind.

AND your 5-day trial is over. Sorry, HBox.
There's a photo of me sitting in the stands during my graduation...two kids around me are playing what look to be Gameboys, and myself and three other kids clearly have Discmans/Walkmans playing during the whole thing.
Yeeeeeeeeee-haw.

I never had a graduation. I hated my high school so I didnt go to that one and I left college after 2 years so I missed out there too. Im not really into that kind of thing anyway.
Sorry your day sucked but congrats on graduating! Best of luck.

Congrats even if the ceremony sucked. For anyone interested in a Master's degree: Manhattanville College. They read everybody's name and you are still in and out in 55 minutes. If I had known the ceremony went that smooth, I would have done the undergrad there too.
Are you the same guy always talking about how your gonna kick some guys ass?
No.
Thanks to everyone for your congratulations.

Monsterone, many much thanks.
I get my blank piece of paper with a ribbon tied around it on the 28th of this month. My universitys colors are blue and white but own gowns are black? I don't even want to go. I'm going for my parents.

I skipped mine. I got so drunk the night before and was laying on my couch in my underwear passed out while all my roomates were getting ready with their parents. I never woke up and one mother was so disgusted by me she wouldn't come back to our house after the ceremony. Also, when we finally got our diplomas none of them had what kind of degree we earned on it. I'm not even sure if I ever got the new one. Oh well.
