I just saw it it on CNN. Tony Randall, most famously of the "Odd Couple," passed away at 84. I'll post a link when I find one.

CNN added a few more details, including:

Besides "The Odd Couple," his series included "Mr. Peepers," "The Tony Randall Show" and "Love, Sidney" -- the latter the first show featuring an openly gay lead character.

Randall, an expert raconteur, was also a frequent guest on "The Tonight Show."

The actor was born Leonard Rosenberg in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 26, 1920.

He was also on Letterman quite a bit after Johnny Carson left "The Tonight Show".

He got married back in 1995. He has two kids-- 7 and 5.

And let's not forget all his brilliant turns on Letterman. Guess Regis will have more airtime now.

Great call. East Side!

I remember Tony appearing on Letterman after Woodstock 1994 covered in mud. He kept popping up for a few weeks.

I also remember Tony being on Conan O'Brien enclosed in a glass case that said "In case of Emergency, break glass".

Rest in Peace Tony!

I always thought Klugman would go first.

Randall was great on Letterman when he was hawking the Eagle Snacks.

I saw Tony Randall in person once and he struck me a wonderful person. Here's why. he was in a store as a private citizen and he had recruited some college students to play test a game he had invented. Some police showed up and tried to arrest the students saying that they were gambling illegally. Mr. Randall refused to have any of them taken away unless they arrested him too as he said that everything going on there was his responsibility. It later turned out that it was a practical joke for that Dick Clark show but that came out after he stood between the students and the police. A good man who will be missed.Text

Is that the same one where they were getting ready for a costume party and got locked in the cellar? That one was a classic.
