I normally never watch Jay Leno, but if a really good guest is on, I usually check it out.
But this was a real shame. I know that Rodney has had some health problems over the last year or two, but he should not have been out there. He could barely finish a sentence, let alone a joke. Very, very difficult to watch. Rodney has always been one of my favorites.

I suppose at some point I must face the realization that there may never be a Ladybugs II.

I did see it, and he just looked and sounded awful. Rodney is one of my all time faves and all through that interview I felt really bad because he really shouldnt have been there.
BTW, I rarely watch Leno but what this shit with him saying hey after every damn joke? Jesus It was pissing the shit out of me...

If he makes it to next year, and from the looks of it, ROnald Reagan has a better chance of doing that.

"Rodney" stars Rodney Carrington (a different comedian) not Rodney Dangerfield.
I first heard Carrington on The Bob and Tom Show (radio gusy based out of Indianapolis, IN).
I've pretty much liked most of his stuff, just not sure it'll translate to television, let alone ABC.

True...but did you ever think Rodney would have outlived the crossdressing kid from that movie?

Great, now I have to face the realization that there will never be a Sidekicks II!

I agree. I saw his appearance the other night and it seriously made me feel bad for the guy. He knew he wasn't doing well... and he seemed genuinely upset when he actually FORGOT one of his lines. Rodney is a personal hero of mine, and it was difficult to watch. His speech was slurred and for the first time ever, Rodney seemed nervous about being in front of a crowd. The last time he was on The Tonight Show, he KILLED. He did a stand-up set, wearing his patented suit and red tie, and he was still going strong, and that was only like 5 years ago. Since then though, he's had brain and heart surgery. It's a shame he couldn't say goodbye to the The Tonight Show with a strong finish. But the poor guy, he's on his way out... You gotta give him credit for still coming out there and telling jokes at 83. God bless the son of a bitch.
