I'd have thought the publication of Mein Kampf, the enactment of the Nuremberg Laws, Kristalnacht and the boatloads of Jewish refugees that were denied asylum might have hinted that something sinister was going on in Germany in the 1930s.

we didn't have troops on he european mainland until june '44, and we didn't make it into any camp areas until '45. so again, what were we supposed to do?
