Pinhead caller

Last week, it ticked me off , when 1 pinhead caller called in and was talkin' smack 'bout the Horde!

Try as I might, I can't please everyone :)

The many people I speak to with OCD have suffered with it for years. Medications like Luvox can make some improvements, with at the risk of eliminating all sexual drive. Needless to say this is not a particularly pleasant side effect.

Behavior therapy can reduce symptematology and make the person "functional" but as the caller conceeded it can reappear particularly in severe cases.

Here's a quote from the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, a group that seems to push cognitive behavioral psychotherapy. After talking about the magnificent cure rate, they say, "Individuals who have repeated episodes of OCD may need to receive long-term or even lifelong prophylactic medication. The experts recommend such long-term treatment after 2 to 4 severe relapses or 3 to 4 milder relapses."
