NY Giants get rid of Collins to get Kurt Warner???

Ok. I can understand wanting to get rid of one quarterback when you sign the man who you want to lead your team for the future in the draft, but JESUS H. CHRIST Warner is NOT the man to show Eli the ropes! Warner would come at a much cheaper price than Collins. Warner also has had some experience being a "good" bench player while in St. Louis, supporting (publicly at least) Bulger while riding the pine.

The Giants wanted Collins back, he would not restructure his deal. Collins was their first choice. If I was Collins I would've left too, him in Dallas would be a great fit.

Kurt Warner is a helluva lot better choice than Neil O'Donnell, who was Big Blue's 2nd choice, but he turned them down too. Warner has lost something, but damn there are worst pick-ups than a 2-time MVP @ a bargain price.

if youre the giants just say fuck it and start manning. let him suck this first season. i mean it makes no sense to get warner, he never deserved an mvp, and is overrated as hell. if im the giants i would honestly go after testaverde. he can handle the NY media and he still has a hell of an arm, as he showed the begining of last season. winning though is a different story. and he showed pennington the ropes very well, and im sure he could do the same for eli. but it would a shame for vinny to wear the blue instead of the green and white.

Comparing Warner to the other quarterbacks mentioned makes Warner look like an even better choice. Gannon is a great fit for the "West Coast" style offense, which the Giants won't run with Manning. Manning has a very strong arm and the Giants will look to make their offense even more vertical. What can a guy who can't throw a football more than 20 yards show him? With regards to Testaverde, I also frown on him as a mentor. Testaverde, even in college, was never as much a quarterback as he was a thrower. Nice arm, little touch, no short game. If Manning really does have all the pieces that the Giants and he claims to have, Testaverde's ability and style will stunt his growth as a quarterback.

man whenever I look at Kurt Warner smiling, he looks like a man that fucks dogs. Not kidding, I refer to him as "dog fucker".

Kurt Warner aint no good. I really think he was just throwing the ball to receivers that he didn't deserve. Vinny, O'Donnell, Huard even would be better. This position that they are trying to fill with Warner sounds like just a veteran who can help Eli get acquainted with the NFL game and lifestyle. Warner might know the game but obviously he's not an expert on being an NFL QB for any extended period of time. Vinny would be a good fit. I thought he was pretty definite for the Cowboys but I think some bidding would be in order. Remember, it's not like Testeverde didn't also lead the league in passing for MY RAVENS.

I know I would like Vinny to come back to Baltimore. Back-up to Boller wouldn't be so bad to me. If Billick tried to get Warner though I'd be sending letters. If Warner doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth than you are way too unbiased for me, and I bid you adieu.
