When I was in sixth grade we had a substitute teacher for about a month. One day he read us the first two chapters of IT. I went home and begged my parents to buy me the book so I could finish it. I have been an avid reader ever since. Thanks Mr. Collins.

Oh, come on. The movie fucking sucks monster donkey-ASS. Everyone just THINKS it's good because Curry was so fucking awesome in it. When he's not onscreen, the rest is just awful.

Watch it tonight if you haven't seen it in years with this in mind and you'll see I'm right after just half-an-hour of the movie.

All I remember of this thing is that it was worse than a monkey bukake snuff autopsy cooking show. Tim Curry aside I remember the acting being like watching the homeless do "As I Lay Dying" in Japanese. I can't wait to see it again.

yeah the TV Movie like most King TV Movies, begins promisingly enough; but soon degrades into, like ya said, in the end it's a big spider.

I guess this book, like The Stand, will just never get the film treatment it deserves, if nothing else, on sheer length. The Stand is 1,200+ Pages, and It sure looks just as fat. And they both; if memory serves, use each beginning chapter to intro one of the main players, tell their story, set up that something is Fucked Up in Derry [which doesnt exist; people cry foul, saying there is a Derry in some states; King has always said, the town is only in my mind, not Maine.]

And again, if I remember, it wasnt really a spider per se, but wasnt part of It [the book; not the Shark Sandwich of a TVM] that 'It' was to each person, a manifestation of their own most personal fears/nightmares, and not a Big Spider thingy?

I know I knwo, I *really* want to like the TVM of 'It', but Mojo is right; it falls far from the mark, but perhaps "IT" Just cant Be Done!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

You are absolutely right, this movie sucked. Same with The Stand miniseries. And that spider at the end looked completely weak. A can of raid could have defeated it. I'm more freaked out by the picture of the giant Iraqi spider.
