View Full Version : Inside the mind, of Bret Hart

First and foremost, in my eyes, Bret "The Hitman" Hart is the best wrestler to ever to step into the ring. All you 'marks' wearing "Goldberg" t-shirts and are currently sporting a hard-on for Randy Orton can take this oppurtunity to leave the thread, NOW.
....
Now then, just out of curiosity, I fired up Internet Explorer and typed in "www.BretHart.com". I figured if a big stiff like Kevin Nash could have a website, then surely the best in the business should have his little corner on the information super high way. Well, to my delight, he does. I roamed around the site for about an hour or two, which is practically astonishing for those who know that I consider the only good things on the net as free music, and porn, but I gave porn up recently. Anywho, I began reading Bret's collumns which provided a peak into the legend's mind. I must say, this guy is one of the few down to earth people lefton earth today. Without going into my "Bret Hart is my hero" rant, I'll just point out some links that you guys should read. These would interest you as Bret mentions his talks with the WWE, and the infamous, Montreal screw job.
His collumn right after the "Montreal Screwjob" took place (http://www.brethart.com/columns/nov15.asp)
His collumn about the "Montreal Screwjob" just last year when it was played up between HBK and Y2J on Raw (http://www.brethart.com/columns/july12.asp)
And of course, Bret giving some respect to the kid he rememberd as the Dynamite Kid's biggest fan, as well as the current reigning champ, Chris Benoit (http://www.brethart.com/columns/april10-2004.asp)

Bret has had a column in the Canadian newspaper for about 10 years now, and it was available on the web as far as I can remember.

Yes, but not everyone knew about them so I provided a link to answer the questions that are always being asked on here.

I take it you haven't been watching Raw for the best year. Goldberg came back after WM last year and beat the Rock at Backlash. He won the belt at Survivor Series (I think), and beat Brock Lesnar at WM on March 14th. So although it isn't 1998, it is the year 2004, and Goldberg did come back reawakening his fanbase who sported their "Who's Next?" t-shirts. So, yea :) .

I recall. But still, nobody was wearing his T-Shirts anymore.

He also didn't want to job because Michaels is a dick who said he wasn't going to job to anyone. Also, HBK made that retarded "I lost my smile" excuse. My cousin showed me the tape last month, I was DISGUSTED. Plus, HBK was such a prick to Hart outside of the ring that it was almost impossible to work with him.
HBK and Vince screwed Bret. Plain and simple. And if you don't believe me, watch "Hitman Hart: Wrestling with shadows", or go to brethart.com and click on "Montreal". They give dates and provide quotes and the series of events A YEAR BEFORE the screwjob went down when McMahon kept lying to Bret, setting him up for the fall. Bret was warned by guys like Vader, who knew of things like this because he had his own experiences in Japan, but he still trusted Vince and Earl Hebner because they both gave him their word. Hebner even SWORE ON HIS CHILDREN'S LIVES that he wouldn't screw Bret. So really, Bret didn't screw Bret. Get your facts straight.

Oh, and another thing: CANADIANS BASICALLY MAPPED OUT THE BLUEPRINT FOR WRESTLING.
I'm a proud New Yorker, I was born in Guyana, came to Brooklyn at the age of 1, moved to Queens at the age of 6, and known New York as my only home for basically my entire life, and I'll admit it. Look at guys like Lance Storm, Edge, and Christian. And let's not even forget the phenomenal Chris Jericho and the current reigning world champion, Chris Benoit who were both trained by Bret's dad, the legendary Stu Hart. So don't even say ANYTHING bad about Canada in a wrestling thread. Hell, you can call me a Benedict Arnold, but if Bret were to start training guys in the Dungeon after he's fully recovered from his stroke, I'd basically WALK TO CALGARY and SLEEP ON THE SIDEWALK just for the oppurtunity.

The "Mr. Mcmahon" character is actually art imitating life...and some life influenced by art
I've posted this before:
How convenient that Vince was "suspicious" of Hart after 14 years. It was Vince who encouraged Bret to sign with WCW.
Bret would never have appear on Nitro with Vince's belt, because HE is honorable. Unlike Mcmahon, who is a lying, backstabbing and deceptive bastard.

goldberg lefy after wrestlemania and the whole crowd serenebaded him goodbye.
I think that was more for Lesnar. Hence the "you sold out" chants.
And I'm sorry, but I can't get into the Bret love. I respect him for his previous ability in the ring, and I am of the opinion that he did get fucked over by Vince, but Bret has become one of THE most bitter men in the entire business. And it's not even the amusing type of bitter that Tom Zenk has.
Maybe he has a right to be, considering the kind of family he lives in, but still, after 7 years I've just gotten tired of it all.

Se7en, I think he's still bitter because in every Bret Hart interview, he blames himself, and Vince for Owen's death. He always says that if he were there, he would have been able to stop Owen from doing that stunt.
