As a rule, I dislike Award shows. There are many reasons for this, way too many to go into detail here. That being said, I have always viewed the MTV Movie Awards as one of the worst of the bunch.
However, this year they actually surprised me. Of course their categories and nominees are usually a bit "wacky" - i.e. Best Kiss, Best Dance Sequence. But with the main categories, actors, actresses, films - they play it pretty straightforward. And when I saw the name of Jim Caviezel as a Best Actor nominee for "Passion of the Christ", my interest was picqued.
Whether it was just a marketing ploy or not, its going to get me watching for this specific presentation. I'm curious to see how it get received and while I know he'll never win...what kind of response will it get from the audience.
