As a rule, I dislike Award shows. There are many reasons for this, way too many to go into detail here. That being said, I have always viewed the MTV Movie Awards as one of the worst of the bunch.

However, this year they actually surprised me. Of course their categories and nominees are usually a bit "wacky" - i.e. Best Kiss, Best Dance Sequence. But with the main categories, actors, actresses, films - they play it pretty straightforward. And when I saw the name of Jim Caviezel as a Best Actor nominee for "Passion of the Christ", my interest was picqued.

Whether it was just a marketing ploy or not, its going to get me watching for this specific presentation. I'm curious to see how it get received and while I know he'll never win...what kind of response will it get from the audience.

Agreed; but occasional they strike Gold.

I think the tributes [lifetime acheivement awards?] given to Chewie and Ron Howards brother FUCK what is his name were priceless. Clint?

And I think Mike Myers did a spoof on the Lord of the Dance or whatever those dancers are that was beyond hysterical.

Oh: And a string of uncomfortable moments that are priceless. The Best someone, Chris Isaak I think, tries to kiss Cameron Diaz, and she FREAKS. Hope I'm remembering that right.

Taking a knee on that one.

How did they not nominate the HIV for Best Villain in that porn flick it appeared in?

How could you not nominate him? His performance as Jesus Christ was amazing. The stuff he had to do to do the role is amazing. Learn a dead language, get hours upon hours of makeup apllied, physcially draining scenes. He should win best actor in that(though he won't) and best actor for the Oscar's.
