I give Foley and especially Orton tons of props for that match. Expect the heel turn for HBK tonight in Calgary on raw. The rest was so so. But the 2 main events were great.

1. Flair loses to "HBK Circa early 1990s" Shelton Benjamin. This really annoys me. Why are they giving him such a megapush. I think he is a great talent but a win over Flair? Nice that Trips put him over but over The Nature Boy?
COME ON NOW!
2. Coach is helped by Garrison "Lance" Cade and steals a victory from Tajiri. Some solid manuevers by the Coach to my surprise. I am still bored by Cade overall maybe hanging with Coach will change my mind on him.
3. Y2J slaps Trish and wins. Nothing surprising there. Nice match.
4. Victoria retains WWE Women's Title over Lita. Molly and Kim come in after the match and annihilate them. Heels vs. faces = classic.
5. Cactus Jack loses to Orton in a match very similar to him and Triple H's a few years back. Thumbtacks, "Barbie", barbed wire on a board, etc used. Did everyone else thought that the match was over after Mick threw Orton off the stage and the refs ordered him backstage?
Mick continual puts over Orton and still still annoys me. Great visual of Orton with the thumbtacks in his back! Just beautiful!
6. Eugene (end this gimmick already) helps The Hurricane and S.H.I.T. win over La Resistance. Eugene's first feud will be La Resistance? Whoo-hoo, not!
7. Edge wins via broken arm with cast followed by a Spear over Kane. Pretty boring Edge return match.
Did Kane's intro pyro purposely not work? I was figuring Taker was showing up.
8. Benoit keeps his WWE World Title in a very solid match in his hometown and family in attendance. That whole reenactment of the infamous "YOU SCREWED BRET" moment bugged me to no end. Was that really needed?

Expect the heel turn for HBK tonight in Calgary on raw. The rest was so so. But the 2 main events were great.Yup, that is almost an absolute guarantee.
Is a heel DX a possibility in the near future?

what purpose would it serve to have a part time wrestler kill orton's push and beat him for the ic title only to prpbably give it up when he walks away. Give orton a little credit for putting on a hell of a match.

You know what? After reviewing the tape (usually I forward when I watch WWE) for the Orton-Foley match and have to say that I was thoroughly impressed.
Great performance by both men. Hats off to you Randy and Mick. I don't mind saying that I am happy for Randy's push... but Shelton is beginning to worry me.

Unless you didn't receive the memo Mark, "National Smoke Out" day is TOMORROW. So please tell me: Why are you lighting up now and, What the hell are you smoking to say that?
I know by now I'm sounding like a broken record, but for the billionth time, RANDY "NO RING TALENT" ORTON SUCKS! Of course you'll be entertained by a hardcore match. No one needs any wrestling ability to perform in taht format. Look ay Mick Foley. I gotta say, the guy's an entertainer and a legend, by the only reason why he's a legend is because he had balls. Not skill, balls. Foley's in ring ability alone isn't anything to look at, but when you add the fact that he'll elbow drop 20 feet to nail a guy through an announce table, then he looks like the real deal. So, unless Orton does a hardcore match for EVERY match for the rest of his career, he would NOT entertain me. And as for Shelton, THE GUYS SOLID GOLD. He's got the charisma and the in ring ability. Orton on the other hand always looks retarded when he trys to act smug in the least bit. And yet, you guys would continue to support a guy who A) REHEARSES HIS PROMOS AND RECITES THEM WITH NO REAL EMOTION, BUT DOES A CHEESEY ACT B) HAS THE IN-RING SKILL OF...GUESS WHO...MAVEN and C)PULLS OFF A GOOD MATCH ONLY WHEN HE'S BEING TACKED AND BROKEN IN HALF LIKE A RUSSIAN PORN FLICK
So yea, excuse my ignorance and the fact that I can't see why Randy SUCK FACE Orton is more of a superstar than Garrison Cade is. And forgive me that I point out the reason why he's receiving his push: Triple H. Hopefully, when Maven returns they'll have him headline a PPV with Foley in a Hell in a Cell match and hand him the strap by Summer Slam. You all dissapoint me.

Flair should not be getting victories over ANYONE at this point in his career. He is doing the right thing, and putting over the younger talent.

Orton bashing is the popular new trend.
Foley didnt have to put him over, he put him over because he sees how good the kid really could be. Hogan could learn from Cactus jack

Let me just say this: I was NOT backing Cade. I was saying that Orton's sucks so much he isn't even better than Garrison SUCK FACE JR. Cade.
But anyway, the sky's still blue, the grass is still green, and Randy Orton still sucks. A person can keep telling someone a lie over a long period of time, in a good enough fashion that the guy listening will soon believe that lie. That's why you fools like Orton.

I don't get it.
For HHH to put over Benjamin clean, it's AWESOME, but for Flair, someone in the twilight of his career, being an awesome career or not, is BAD?
Flair is a shell of his former self. While being a shell of Flair is still 120 percent than most wrestlers today, he's still not the Flair of the late 80's.
Flair for the Old, indeed.

COME ON NOW!
......the hell?
Ten hit the nail on the head with this one.
At one point, Flair was the greatest. He may in fact be the greatest of all time, but that time has come and GONE, and frankly, ALL Flair is good for these days is putting people over.
Why is it bad that he puts over Shelton, but it's good that Foley puts over Orton? Shelton right now - TODAY - is TWICE the worker that Randy Orton will EVER become. At his peak, Orton will only be half the worker that Benjamin is NOW. Shelton's a guy who deserves to be elevated. I don't feel the same way about Orton, but bottom line, Flair should lay down for Shelton because it's not only the right thing to do, it's ALL Flair can do at this point.
But to get a victory over Flair? Be serious! Not HIS time yet!
Look, they need to do something NOW. They're rapidly putting themselves into the place that WCW was in towards the end, with nothing but older guys who were unreliable, and when they finally started to push new faces it was too late. They can't afford to do that. Look at what's happened to them just this year alone: Goldberg is gone, Lesnar - the guy they spent two years building as one of their top stars - left in disgust, Rock can only be counted on for one (maybe two) matches a year, Austin is gone, and Kurt Angle runs the risk of killing himself if he remains in the ring for much longer. Big Show will be out a few weeks to heal form nagging injuries and HHH will be out filming a movie. They need to push new guys now, and while I don't like that they're forcing Orton down our throats, I have no problem with them pushing Shelton because a) he's actually a good worker and b) he has the potential to be that huge superstar they've been looking for and desperately need.
Now THAT was just being MEAN for the sake of being MEAN. He really isn't that bad. Maven... don't talk to me about Maven! Maven who is what I say!
At this point Orton is probably better than Maven.
But he's still not much. Even though he's the golden boy, there are dozens of workers in the WWE who are better than he is.
You are a Cade fan? Well a WWE watered down version of Lance Cade fan? Please, tell me why? Enlighten me.
Cade's incredibly boring as he doesn't have any real gimmick or heat.
From a technical perspective, however, he's no worse than Orton. Cade WAS trained, at least partially, by Shawn Michaels, which gives him an edge over Orton.
I still think that Flair is the only guy in wrestling that shouldn't put over anyone in any type of one-on-one contest (except maybe Benoit, Y2J, that caliber of wrestler). Just me but he is on another pedistal (sp?) in wrestling lore.
Let's get into the time machine and remember that a year or so ago, right when Flair joined Evolution, he lost clean to Rico in a 3 minute match on RAW.
Clean. To Rico. In 3 minutes.
You shouldn't act as if him jobbing to the midcard faces - who need the win to establish cred - is something awful.
Critics said that he'd no longer wrestle five years ago, and look at him now. I'm glad that he's putting this kid over. At least he can see that there's talent in these OVW alumns.
If there is, I'm not seeing much of it.
Lesnar, Haas & Benjamin are the best things to come out of OVW. Dinsmore's good, but they stuck him with the retard gimmick. Everyone else is mediocre to bad.
Foley didn't put over Orton because he thinks the kid is the second coming. He put over Orton because Mick's always been a guy who's cared about the business and done what was right for it. As much as I detest the choice of Orton as "superstar", that's the decision that was made, and Foley's going to kill himself to get the kid over because that's what'
