ok someone tell me i'm tripping and can read, coz Patton? I dont see.

And Atticus Finch should be #1; cant remember which poll it was but Peck as Atticus Finch was recognized by more then a few as the greatest single portrayal of a character; maybe this is more the characters themselves, but that still doesnt give Patton a pass. That opening sequence with the flag in the background?

Fucking EPIC.

Patton is not on there, but then again, he is not a movie character. It was a bio-pic.

This, I can not argue. I still remember the first time I saw that movie. I was so young (8 or 9) and it moved me so much.

2. Michael Corelone

Yeah I think Ron talked about this. The Pacino character is central to the Trilogy. He IS the trilogy, in my opinion.

Brando? I read that he was so bad with lines, if the camera did a 180 you would see these ENORMOUS CUE CARDS WRITTEN LIKE THIS WITH HIS LINES ON THEM because he couldnt remember shit, and couldnt see. I mean I hear these things were Huge.

Brando = good

Pacino = More Gooder

That list is as screwy as every other "greatest of all time!" list I've seen.

Ace Ventura? Ace Ventura makes the list and, say, Tylder Durden of Fight Club does not?! What kind of bullshit is that?

Or Gollum as #11??? Look, I'm one of the biggest LOTR marks out there, but even I wouldn't put Gollum over Kane from Citizen Kane or Atticus Finch.

No, Se7en, it's worse... Gollum is at #10. Margo Channing, my personal favorite, is #11.

This is almost as ludicrous as a PWI500 list.

The other poll Mike Teacher is referring with to with Atticus Finch as #1 hero, and Hannibal Lector as #1 villian is AFI's greatest heroes and villians one.

I would agree with that list better than this one by Premieres.

The AFI list is actually a great list, even for people who don't like lists. I'm having a tough time finding people that don't belong there. It's always easy to find someone they overlooked, but not finding people that doesn't belong tells you that it's a good list.

AFI, however, did a list of comedies that was pretty bad.

The AFI list is actually a great list, even for people who don't like lists. I'm having a tough time finding people that don't belong there.

I don't like the inclusion of some of the characters from newer movies. Like Beckett in Philadelphia, or Maximus in Gladiator, or Harris in Training Day.

And Harry Lime should have been higher. Harry Lime owns you all.
