I'm psyched that the Knicks are back in the playoffs. The team was a complete disaster at the beginning of the season, and it was looking like another season would go by without any improvement. But here we are today, after some major franchise changes, the Knicks found their way to the 7th seed in the East. Now that may not sound very good, but think back to 1999, the last time the Knicks made the finals... They were an 8TH SEED TEAM.

Will I ever live to see my Knicks win a championship? ...A man can hope.

So, what are your predictions/opinions on this year's first round match-up: Knicks Vs. Nets

well, its pretty obvious the only reason why the Knicks are in the playoffs is because the East is so terrible. The Nets will clearly win tis series but it doesn't really matter because whoever come out of the East will no doubt be swept by the West

While I do agree with you that the only reason the Knicks are there is cuz the East is garbage, take these two factors into account:

-Injured Kidd
-The team that finished with the BEST record in the NBA is the Indiana Pacers.

ok, maybe not swept. but i dont care who you take out of the East, its a mismatch with the West. it has been for years and it will continue to be that way until the Lakers, Spurs, T-Wolves, etc. all die.

The only hope the Knicks have is if BOTH Kidd and Martin can't play well because of their injuries. If one of them is good, the Nets win, if both of them are good its sweepsville.

So far this is shaping up to be a great game. It's only a 7-point game at half time... Would've been a 4-point game if it weren't for that buzzer beater. Still anyone's game.

Sure the Knicks are down, but this has been a fun game. Jersey's speed is uncanny. I hope NYK can at least not get swept.

Defeat leads me to anger...anger that leads me to victory!

i just turned on the game, knicks are down by 22. this is a close series. guess hardaway was right when he was saying that the knicks have a better shot against the nets than anyone else in the east. and i don't really follow basketball that closely but have they stopped calling traveling? almost every possesion there is a travel that is uncalled.

Right now it's clear that the Nets are just the better team. The Knicks are playing scattered, sloppy basketball, and without Houston or Tim Thomas on the court, they don't stand a chance.

without Houston or Tim Thomas on the court, they don't stand a chance.

You mean, without Houston. Thomas doesnt do anything without Houston anyway. That's the whole reason the Thomas/Mohammed for Van Horn trade was made, because Thomas would shine in a system with Houston, but with no Houston, Thomas's game lacks.

Even with Houston, Knicks would have to play there best game all year to win even 2 games in the series.
The only reason most Knick fans wanted to play the Nets first round was cause of the possibility of Kidd/Martin not playing, but they are and that means Knicks were gonna lose no matter what.

Knicks just dont play defense, period. And the fact that the Nets are probably the fastest team in the NBA doesnt help at all, Knicks cant keep up.

I am a Knicks fan but Tim Thomas really pisses me off. He is hoping the Knicks retaliate tonight and take someone out. WHo the fuck is he? No Knicks fan wants him here anyway. Fuck him and bring back Van Horn.

Tonight will be interesting. The fans will lustfully boo the Nets. If it turns to a rout again, they will turn on the Knicks in a second.

The Knicks just suck, healthy or not. Tim Thomas is nothing but a flop. This team needs a lot more help, and with the cap room and lack of draft picks, I don't think Isaih can do it. Then again, he's surprised me before.

My Pacers are 2-0

I guess that's something to be happy about when the highlight of your franchise was getting smacked around by the Lakers.

A) Keith Van Horn sucks, don't ever say he will help the Knicks
B) The Knicks are horrible, read ESPN.com's Page 2 article about it, the guy (I think Simmons) hits the nail right on the head

I think undoubtedly that with Van Horn the Knicks at least win a game. Van Horn is better than Thomas + Nazr. Isiah screwed up and I'm sure HE wishes that he didn't trade Van Horn. I don't understand how it helped them to get rid of him, because the "we got 2 starters for 1" doesn't work when the league is dominated by teams with good players, not teams with just a lot of mediocre players.

Anybody watching Nets-Pistons? GOD DAMN! Triple overtime! Unbelievable shot to send it into overtime. This game is leaps and bounds past last night's Spurs-Lakers game.
