This may have been touched on, but he's on with Francessa right now in studio, and holy shit this is unreal. He talks like he's some college graduate (an intelligent one) and hes 14. He took some advanced classes or something and has graduated high school already, and has been signed to a $500,000 contract to play for the DC soccer team. DC United I THINK is the name. Put it on if you can and catch the end of this.

Wadd, obviously I can't hear this in Massachusetts but please tell me Russo is not in studio today. If he is, what sort of idiotic questions is he asking?

Russo is not in studio.
Slightly off-topic, I've noticed today, Mike seems very happy, almost jovial. He is funny, and even courteous with the callers, which is a complete 180 from when they do the show together, when he is a curmudgeony, pissed off bastard. I am now 100 percent convinced the man completely fucking hates Chris Russo.
Anyway, good for Freddie. He has a gift, and he is taking full advantage. If he doesn't let his head get blown up, he should be great to watch for maybe 25 years.

Yes, it's the DC United.
if he's smart, he'll get some experience in MLS and go on to the EPL when he's 18.

He's such a little bitch too...
Paraphrasing from yesterday:
Chris: If the Nets are healthy, they are going to beat the Knicks in 4.
Mike: I agree, maybe 5. The Knicks could take one in the Garden.
Chris (sternly): No, the Nets will win in 4. Not 5.
Mike (like a little bitch): Yer right. I agree, Nets will win it in 4.

I'd give him about 20 years of soccer barring any injury (34 is old for a striker).
He also has about 4 more years of work before he reaches his potential and can compete with the other internationals and a lot can go wrong in that time.
It's still very exciting, I hope he does well and this country starts paying more attention to the most popular sport in the world.

I heard the interview and could not have been more impressed with Adu. First of all, he spoke perfect English. He had no detectable accent. Second, he was way more mature then most 14 year olds. Mike brought up the fact that his father left him at 8 and that may be why he is so mature. The kid came off very good.

He scored a goal. i actually watched the end of this instead of the basketball. the people the know something about soccer siad he made some poor choices with the ball, but played ok. this concludes my interest in this guy and soccer as a whole.
