He certainly has the skill to win, as long as he doesn't get all crazy. He loves a good circus shot does Mr. Mickelson. He's been playing conservative all tournament, hopefully he's learned his lesson and will continue. I don't know though.

well, its over, lefty did it! honestly, for the longest time i haven't liked mickelson, but he played a phenominal back 9 today and he really deserved to win. it was a great performance and i can truthfully say that right now i'm very happy for the man. what a tremendous achievement.

Absolutely amazing! I've loved Mickelson for years and every time he finished 2nd or 3rd it was really tough to watch. I knew once he hit that perfect shot on 18 that he'd do it.

This should open the door to a bunch of major wins.

I can't remember the last time I watched Golf on TV, but caught the last 5 holes of the Lefty and the South African.

That Birdie Shot on 18 to win? I don't know which guy on the grounds crew he should thank, but did that ball ever look like it was gonna do the classic 180 and pop out. Some blade of grass made the difference. Wow! Seriously, a classic shot. And the kids and wife deal was cool.

I love the little hut they go in to have the score cared validated or whatever it is. Looked like a scene from Dawn of the Dead; one building surrounded by the White Zombies!!!!

Having said that; Golf is a racist waste of nice property! Well, Tiger aside. Actually, looking at Tiger, how fast they fall out of favor.

Oh, and Arnie eclipsed the entire weekend.

I agree, the last time I watched golf for more than an hour was.....actually I never have. But when I saw Phil in contention I wanted to make sure I was there when the guy finally won it. That last put was pretty amazing. It would of been pretty typical to see Phil get to the last hole, miss the put and then put one in the woods in sudden death holes.

Side point: Phil may not be a winner when it comes to winning majors but he did pretty good in the wife department.

I thought he'd blown it again. About 3 feet out that putt was going left. I yelled, 'He didn't do it!' He got it though, the ball held. There was no way he was gonna win if it went to a playoff.

What a great tournament though, what a great day. Seriously the back 9 by Mickelson, Els, and that Choi character were really things of beauty.

i was happy for him in the end, though i was rooting for KJ choi because his golf clubs have orange shafts.
and because he is a 222 yard 5 iron and put it in the cup for eagle. i could hit a 5 wood and then throw the ball and id be around 225 or so.
