If the Yankees win tonight, they clinch the division. Going up by 6.5 games would make it mathematically impossible for the Sox to come back. I'm looking forward to home field advantage against the Sox in the ALCS.

The "magic number" is now 4...so the ultimate kick in the balls (which I'm not silly enough to think will happen, but boy would it be great) would be to win tonight & go into Sunday against Schilling with a chance to clinch at Fenway. Could you imagine a Yankee celebration on the grass in Fenway? Theo might hang himself from the owner's box with his own belt.

You're right Crippler. I stand corrected. Two more wins would do it... But I can't see a sweep happening in Fenway.

I don't currently have any video for any of the quotes but it has to be somewhere on the net seeing as how it was during the post game press conference on NESN. Apparantly though the Boston media is going absolutley apeshit over everythign he said. Some media outlets are tryign to claim that everythign he said last night is an attempt to obtain a big time deal from New York in the offseason, which I certainly think is the case.

This isn't the first instance of Pedro pulling this crap. When Boston was swept in New York, the Red Sox had to come down through the stands due to hightened security and Pedro supposedly started chanting DE-REK JE-TER while the Yanks were taking batting practise. He then proceeded to go down there and shake all their hands. I remember hearing accounts about how Jeter and Matsui were dumbfounded as he walked over with his arm outstretched. Regardless though, I personally think there's now way in hell Pedro ends up here. The situation with him throwing to Posada alone is just unfathomable.

Yet Martinez was all but disconsolate.

"I wanted to bury myself on that mound," he said. "What can I say? I just tip my hat and call the Yankees my daddy."

"I wish they would disappear and never come back," he said.

Going into this series I said right from the start that I'd be totally happy with one win and avoid the sweep. However, here's some audio to brighten us up after the bitter taset in our mouths yesterday.

The audio clips are all at the top but the one with Pedro cursing isn't on there. He made the " I hope they fucking disappear comment" then he immediatley apologized for cursing and said it again without the fuck.

Enjoy

Why see if Kevin Brown can pitch with a broken hand against the Red Sox at Fenway Park? They couldn't wait one more day?

I don't even know if this guy's gonna make it through the 1st inning.

Since Kevin Brown had the pins removed from his left hand, shouldn't he have had the rocks removed from his head at the same time?

I definitely want one of those shirts, it's a collectors' item afterall. Plus, any collector knows the "error" version of an item is always more collectible than the proper one.

But I'll get around to that one later, first I have to get my hands on one of these:

Hi there all fellow yankee fans! I am in my dam glory
with clinching the division again.
I gotta say this shirt is a fucking classic, I NEED one
of these too!!!!

Can anyone tell me where I might purchase this?

BTW martinez does suck so this shirt is just too damn appropriate. I am new here to this board and would really appreciate any suggestion on where to buy this.
Thanks and "LET'S GO YANKEES"

I have to be honest here and say I saw this coming from Duque the entire time. This guy is in all liklihood one of if not the oldest pitcher in the league, and he's coming off rotator cuff surgery. Right now I'd be shocked if he came back at all in the playoffs.

I am, however, contrary to the opinion of most Yankee fans really high on Brown. I recognize he absolutely stunk against Boston but obviously that was to be expected. If he can have a decent start against Minnesota I'm confident he'll kick it into gear and be just as effective as Duque would have been. Of course that doesn't mean much considering we have to face Santana twice.

All logic leads me to believe that Minnesota's gonna dominate this series, but I have a really weird feeling that the Yankees are gonna make it to the ALCS. It's just something odd about this year's team, they're pitching is atrocious but with a a powerful lineup and a strong pen they always scrape out the wins.
