God I hate that movie, but I've seen it at least 10 times. Because, frankly, House Harkonnen fucking ownz.

Yes and no. He did direct it, but as far as I know, he never took his name off the credits. According to IMDB, he was listed as the director, rather than "Alan Smithee", which is used when a directors doesn't want the credit for the movie.
