Is this "pushing the envolpe" or something that really shouldnt be on tv.
Now I'm all for uncensorship, but this is a bit much.

I do not think it is real. The voices do not sound real. I think this is just something someone with some art talent put together. There is no way this is real

I don't buy it. The voice did sound a bit off.
P.S. - I really hope it's fake because Matt & Trey have been personal heros of mine for a while, and if they sunk low enough to joke about 9/11, I'd lose all my respect for them. It is my personal belief that anyone who finds 9/11 humorous deserves to die in the next terrorist attack.

Awful! Another reason I will not watch this shithole of a program again. All of my South Park DVD's were successfully sold last week. The shirts, animation cells and other Trey and Matt films are next. Really a shame how a good thing has gone to such shit. There is such a thing as quitting while you are ahead.
I didn't even hear the September 11 thing until I read what Chicken Hawk said. That is really disgusting. How low and inhuman!

http://gilseed.home.acedsl.com/sig.jpg
It's real and authentic. (http://www.spscriptorium.com/)
Scroll down to the April 1st update. Apparently this Aristocrats joke is an old joke comedians tell backstage to newbies to psyche them out or something. It appears that Trey added the 9/11 part. I'm not gonna stop watching South Park, but damn. Damn.
EDIT:I realize that it is an update on April fool's day, but I read some stuff saying that this joke is Trey's favorite. Just Google Trey Parker and Aristocrats. Or go to southparkstudios.com's BBS and search for Aristocrats.

WOW
The sickest part of it all, and maybe the point of the joke, was you all had no problem with the first part, but then as soon as they brought up 9/11, everyone goes, "WHOA NOW, that's too much!!"
That's what I got out of it, anyway...

I think it leans more towards the side of bad taste and offensiveness. Which is probably why it never aired. I'm not in any way for censorship or silencing things because they bother me. It really takes a lot for me to be really offended at something. This thing didn't make me feel that way at all. I didn't find it funny, but I also wasn't offended. Not to say that I couldn't see how someone else could find offensive.

There's no such thing as a South Park animation cel. It's never been cel animated. The pilot and original shorts were construction paper, then they moved to digital. No ink and paint ever.

Not funny. But not offended at the 9-11 joke. People might get offended but if you take out the 9-11 from the joke and put something else like "victims of the hiroshima bombing", I bet they would find nothing offensive from it. At least some of them anyway.
Sorry about the spelling.

Ya know I've been thinking about getting another domain name and pointing it at pretty much the same content cleaned up a little for just that reason.
Yeah, it was my site it was linked from. *waits to hear "how could you host THAT?"*
Anyway, I've listened to the show for a good while now and just never made it over here. I suppose this was as good a reason as any.

Jon, you are absolutely right. My bad. You would think after not only going to school for animation but being a previous admirer and student of many "Making Of" South Park videos I would have known that.

There's no such thing as a South Park animation cel.
There could be SP animation cels, but not any that were actually used to animate the show. They can make "offical" cels from the digital files to sell to the fans. I assumed most animation cels sold to the public were just reproductions of the real ones used.

I watched the clip last night. It was amusing, but it was just SP humor, not a 9/11 joke. Nothing really funny or unfunny about it. Not their best. Not their worst.
And strangely, someone linked me to the same thing but on an edu domain last night.
I assumed most animation cels sold to the public were just reproductions of the real ones used.
As a former cel collector, I can answer that one. There's really 2 types of cels, used ones and repros.
Real cels are used in the production of animation, aren't meant for sale originally and may have all manner of markings on them. They may also have an unfinished quality around the edges because they kinda trail off "off-screen"
Repros can be direct reproductions of real ones used for the show or be sericels created in a limited number for the express purpose of selling. They tend to be cleaner and tend to have a more sellable image. (i.e. no cels of Scratchy's hand for Bart to buy)

I'm so sorry, everyone. I really am. But I laughed. The joke itself wasn't funny, it was the telling of it and the other kids' reactions that got me. And I'd heard it before, just not in this context, nor in a comic routine.

"Story goes these great big rats come scuttling off the slave ships and raped all the little tree monkies."
The joke, and the Aristocrats movie is about pushing the boundaries on the arbirtrary laws of speech and comedy. The joke only makes "sense" within a certain context.

Did that sire crash? I keep getting a message that the page is unavailable. Anyone have an alternate?
Personally, I don't think comedy can go to far if it's placed in the proper context. Jokes about "your mother" are funny...unless say it to someone whos mother has died.
South Park makes tons of money BECAUSE they will make fun of everything. Cancer, Religion, Mortality, Disabilities, War, Handicaps, etc etc. I dont think they can go to far...at this point.
