Those Mets are so cute, making trades and all that. It's almost like they're a real baseball team. Awwww.

Ok. From a fans perspective I'm glad they got rid of him. He did nothing for the team and was a waste of money.

But looking at it from an unbiased perspective, I don't see how this changes anything for the mets.

Well it doesn't really change much for this year, but considering they would have to still pay him a ton of $$$ for the next 2 seasons, it will certainly help them be more agressive on the free agent market.

I really hope they go after Milton Bradley, even though he has some issues, he is a damn good ballplayer, something the Mets could use, some youthful athleticism.

I would have traded him for a bag-O-balls... It's great they actually got live bodies for him.

It really is a sad day in the baseball world when you can say 9 mil isn't a lot of money, but you are right. However Wilpon has put a tight leash on the FA signings and 9-10 mil now gets a pretty decent ballplayer, Cedeno got his big money at the right time.

Pudge, Ponson and Maddux all are making 10 million of less per yr. I think we will find a way to spend Roger's money more wisely.

From a Yankee fan's perspective, I feel exactly the same way.

I know they got rid of cedeno,, and who cares what they got back as long as he's gone, but another catcher? Could they at least get some other position player. Whats that make 4 catchers on the team now?

Actually I meant 9 mil over the course of 2 years, so thats 4.5 mil a year...

Cedeno sucked....now get some pitching under the age of 35. If Glavine is our "ACE"....100 loses here we come.

I think most of you Mets "fans" are missing the point here. Even if they dont make the playoffs, hell even if they lose 100 games, at least they will be an exciting 100 losses! I cant wait to see guys like Reyes, Matsui, Yates, Roberts, and eventually Moreno, Ring, and Kazhmir go out there and play.

Oh and the Indians traded Bradley to the Dodger for Mota, yes the same Mota than ran like a coward from Mike Piazza, and one of the top prospects in the league in Franklin Gutierrez. Frankly I dont see how the Mets couldve competed with that without giving up one of their really high prospects. If they did though it would be waste if they are seriously planning to go after a Magglio or a Beltran after this season...

it does nothing for htis seasin as someone already stated. but next offseason things will be looking up. hopefully the mets dont resign leiter this offseason and glavine and piazza are gone next offseason. that opens up alot of payroll. and if im not mistaken delgado becomes a freeagent after this season. we get him hopefully and sign some pitching. and ordonez is a freeagent too so we'll b in the running to get him. all potential good things.
