It still amazes me how Nickelback is on roadrunner Records. How the mighty labels have fallen. I used to blindly pick up Roadruner releases and would be guaranteed full on thrashing metal. Now I have to look twice.

This band is living proof as to why ROCK as i knew it is dead.

Well , that and the demand for hip-hop and the pseudo-rock bands being shoved down our throats by MTV , and VH1. Even metallica after the whole NAPSTER thing, and their new bassist who looks like some freakin' indian with those pigtails and their new cd tanked after a few weeks.

Getting back to this Canadian rip-off band,
The ones who pushed them onto the unsuspecting cd buying public are the ones that should be shot and then the band one by one, should be exiled from this country. At least that's what i think :8|:

changing the speed would make the pitch go up and down correct? so yeah they used the same chord progressions, millions of doo wop bands did all the time. timing change, and key change make a world of difference in the way a song sounds. but if they don't change the speed on this in anyway, yes they do suck ten pound eskimo balls

The only difference is that The Ramones did not sell their soul following a formula trying to make millions. Sure is was pretty basic three chord bliss but that was their and many MANY followers thing who just like to go out and do their quick lil' songs and be done with it. No more no less. Nickelback is something I see as a money making formula who doesn't care about substance int heir music, just a quick buck theory casue they hit it big with one song and might as well get it while the gettin's good.

I could her them say, "Hey, 'How You Remind Me' sold us millions and got us a buttload of money, eh? Let's take that song, alter a couple of chords and write a new song to it but throw in the verses in different spots to throw off those who are just looking for the #1 hit. Sure, the true music lovers will figure it out but that's not our audience. We are after the easily entertained and Top 40 crowd."

Or something to that effect. Yes, I don't like Nickelback but regardless I know garbage and a formula and a lack of emotion and spirit and heart when I hear it.

For the most part, alot of bands CD's sometimes sound like they have taken the same song and adjusted a few notes here and there. For example, when Creed first came out, great sound. But the more you listened to it, sounds alot alike. Now there awfull.
Puddle of Mud are another example. But the bottom line is they a good band that STILL worth listening to. Other bands try to alter their sound to be more edgy or try new things. Or they say they have matured. Remember when Pearl Jam used to be good? Yeah, they matured.
