As I type this, the match between Shelton Benjamin and Triple H is not over yet. But, regardless of the outcome, I truly feel that Shelton Benjamin has what it takes to be in the main event on WrestleMania 21. He has the skill, the charisma, and the appearance to be a big time player in the WWE for many years to come. He is the real deal.

i just hope this isn't one of those one time great Raw showings and then they get pushed down the card again...either with a PPV HHH win or HHH kicking his ass senseless next week. then its mid carder for what seems like an endless amount of time.

No "It's All About The Benjamins" graphics and theme: a sigh of relief.
Watching an entertaining match involving Trips: shocking, yet oddly satisfying.
Shelton's "thisclose" gesture, just after Trips did the same to him: priceless.

Well.
That was NOT the match I was expecting.
And that was most certainly NOT the outcome I was expecting.
Good for them putting over Shelton, but it all hinges on how they book him from here on out - if they do it reasonable well, they could potentially have a breakout star with him (something they're in need of). If they do something stupid like job him out to HHH next week (or worse - one of his flunkies, such as Batista), this may all be for naught.
Here's hoping they do the right thing with him.

Who's gonna have teh bigger losing streak? HHH or Kane?
I think someone new will join Raw every week so Kane has someone to job to.

You have to feel bad for Charlie Haas here. Shelton gets a clean win over the biggest start in the business, and Haas gets to job to one of the most useless people ever to grace a ring, in RVD.

Read on pwinsider.com that Triple H wants to build a better reputation backstage and get along better with "the guys," and doing the right thing is the result. Sounds good to me.

I really hope I'm not right, but I just have a nagging feeling that they are going to try and turn this into an angle with Evolution recruiting Benjamin. The whole way it was even set up reeks of it, from all the raw guys patting him on the back backstage to Benoit coming down to offer protection.

Finally an OVW talent allowed to go out and live up to his potential. It reminds me of when he had a winning streak on HEAT before he was made part of the World's Greatest Tag Team.

By "it" I hope you mean black skin because I don't ever think Shelton will be more than the token young black guy. Vince isn't capable of pushing black men as the top guy (don't even say The Rock counts).
I seriously thought this was the second coming of HHH/TAKA.
exactly what i thought. HHH loses to guys all the time, just not guys that Vince ever gives any kind of push. Shelton will be the next Hurricane probably, one big win then being relegated to nonesense. Liked him, I just don't expect to see him main event again (unless he's part of Evolution which is entirely possible)

I totally disagree with you. Shelton has something that no black or white wrestler has right now. The look, the skills, the charisma and the attitude to be a main eventer for a long time.

That pretty much sums it up. I've like Shelton more than Haas in their tag matches being that Shelton had more ring psychology and workerd better. Haas is great talent too, and should be allowed to grow more and get pushed to at least a solid upper mid carder, and then move into the main event picture on SD! But hell, I don't even know if that'll happen with the topsy turvey nature of the WWE. Just look at what they did to the Backlash PPV. Hunter basically penciled his name in on the marquee sign.

Shelton Benjamin has tools, but he really needs to improve on his mic skills as that is only major weakness. But at least he's trying.
Maybe a year or two down the road, we'll have a Shelton Benjamin vs. Booker T. main event

Wouldn't it have made much more sense for Michaels to pick an opportune moment to interfere and lead to another Benjamin victory. Does he have the whole spotlight on him every second?
I had to laugh.....my gf said Michaels runs like a girl.
Maybe because I missed last week...but I liked Benjamin's previous music to the new entry.
