Call me scrooge but they are:

boring, repetitive, usually not heartfelt, mundane, completely taking over the Lounge, and i never got one so maybe I am out of my element.

In all reality if this site gets more members there would probably be one every day if not more. I understand that the birthday threads are the 'niche' of a particular member but that doesn't mean that others wont follow suit. I also understand that it may lift the spirits of that certain person but I think we could all live without so many of them...I believe there are about 6 of them alone on the first page of "The Lounge." So if anyone ever wants to give me a birthday thread (12/22) I would much rather an interesting topic as the discussion. In other words....My birthday topic.

I have no problem with "birthday threads" but I do have a problem with them when they are wishing Happy Birthday to people that haven't posted on the board in over 12 months.

Perhaps a more selective celebration would be prudent.
