i don't know about the rest of you but the short days and shitty wheather gets me so down, though i love to snowboard and enjoy winter activities.

i mean, last night i was out smoking a cigarette and hering the earth open up from the frost. tonight i was out in a light shower smelling spring... oh, it is so good. how long until i move to san diego and the wheather never changes?

if you lived in san diego, you'd never get to stand outside in a light shower smelling spring. sometimes you can only appreciate things if you miss them.

it doesnt get to me because i dont think about it too much. besides, theres no better way to feel alive than the cold, biting winter air. followed, of course, by the spring thaw.

I never knew there was an actual condition for this so called "winter depression". I was visiting a friend of mine in Boston, we were talking about how it's always so damn cold up there and she mentioned the fact that she went to the doctor and he told her she suffers from seasonal depression. I always knew that I felt different in the winter, like life moved a lot slower and things were much more boring but I never knew there was an actual name for feeling shitty in the winter. I HATE THE COLD!

Winter Depression is definitely a real thing. One of my friends is on Paxil and wanted to try and have his dose lowered a couple of moths ago. His doctor actually said that would be better if he waited until the summer because of winter depression. People are just generally unhappier in the winter. What a shocker!

I totally agree. Im pretty much the most miserable bastard I know....and the first real warm day we had a week or so ago...I walked outside...took a deep breath of the warm spring-like air...and was pretty much in a good mood all day. I think I even smiled.

I hate winter. I hate the cold. I hate the snow. You can do so much more in the summer time. Just going out and sitting outside is a pleasure. I hate when people say "oh winter is better cause if youre cold you can just put on more clothes...blah blah blah." I want those people to die. Anything over 75 degrees is perfect weather for me. I love a nice balmy day. Its making me smile just talking about it.....I...I...I gotta stop now.....

how'd you know my first name funk? :)

and i got something for you to bear hug right here nin, or atleast wrap 2 arms around.

i guess depression is a strong word but i get really down in the winter time and my spirit springs back up when the wheather turns to the better. i wasn't trying to get clynical (though h is right), but i thing sunlight really has an effect on people(or lack there of). shit, look at the stereotypes of califorians and ny'ers. airhead retards vs. disgruntled fuckfaces.

Sure everyone gets the winter blahs, but Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is very real. (http://www.nmha.org/infoctr/factsheets/27.cfm)

I've known people who get very depressed during the winter. Instead of going on meds, they use a light box. (http://www.lighttherapyproducts.com/products_lamps.html)

Eh, just my 2 cents.

I use full spectrum lights too. They are expensive, but its worth it, plus, its easier to see stuff and you get a truer perception of the color of things. I dont know if I suffer from that or not, but I know that once the spring comes, I start to feel rejuvinated. I cant wait to get spring fever! 2 weeks ago, I think it was a Monday, it was like 60 degrees and I saw girls with shorts and with more skin revealed and it sent my libido into over drive. Then we got that snow right after and it sucked again.

I love the winter time! I like about it hot chocolate and I like about it snow angels! You can't do those things in the summer time- unless you live in Backwardsville!!!

I hate the winter. The only good thing about winter is Christmas and after that it's depressing. That's why I shoot off cannons into my neighbors house. You get a point if you get it through the window and 2 points if you hit the fat kid that lives there.
