WWE star Steve Austin was arrested today on assault charges after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, according to San Antonio, Texas station KSAT channel 12.

Austin's girlfriend, who was not indentified, told police that she was pushed down during an argument in Austin's home, injuring "her hands and knees."

According to the report, Austin is no longer under probation from his case with ex-wife Debra Williams. The newscast promised further details later in the evening. PWInsider.com (http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=1448&p=1)

I made this observation during Wrestlemania, I turned to one of my buddies and said, "it's funny how they boo Brock Lesnar for wanting to pursue a life long dream, but they cheer Austin even though he beats the shit out of his women" WWE fans are great.

I think he should be fired. I ain't got no respect for
someone who hits women, I dunno maybe I'm jumping
the gun but it is a bit ridiculous.

And like was said above I wouldn't mind if he returned to
"wife-beater" chants, but people will still just cheer the hell
out of him-damn shame.

or maybe he is innocent and is having his past used against him for monetary reasons. we don't really know anything yet, only this: the man likes his beer.

In update from an earlier story posted here on PWInsider.com, Steve Austin has not been arrested. The earlier report was erroneous (and has been corrected) and we apologize for the error.

Well, at least he wasn't arrested. (http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=1450&p=1)

No, basically he wasn't arrested. The alleged victim is still willing to press charges.

it's funny how they boo Brock Lesnar for wanting to pursue a life long dream

What lifelong dream was that? Not the NFL because the guy has never played organized football in his life.

I agree they should Fire Austin. He beats women enough already. He isn't even a damn wrestler anymore just a stupid sheriff... Yea yea I know people will yell saying so if he is a wrestler you would not fire him..... The answer... No, I probably would not because then he is too big of an asset to fire.

This is going back aways, but do any of you remember me being upset when Austin stunned Stacy Keibler on RAW a few months back because she wouldn't drink beer with him?

Yeah, well, this story is pretty much why. Because Austin seems to have a habit of beating the shit out of women, and the WWE, though certainly never known for good taste, should have still had the common decency and good sense not to fucking glorify his behavior.

Actually, that was one of the first things that came to mind when I heard about this (the incident, not your reaction to it, although I think reacted almost exactly the same way at the time).

If WWe doesn't take any action towards him (which is understandable, considering that he hasn't been arrested or charged yet), I'd hope they at least have the good sense to keep him away from the women in any future storylines.

Yeah, "WWe" and "good sense," what am I thinking?
