The season is so close you can almost touch it. There's gotta be a few people out there itching for the added competition of fantasy baseball.

And now you can talk trash with people you know, hold victories over their heads at group outings (for the board, that is, the fantasy league doesn't get that out of hand), etc. And even if you're already in another legue, you now have a chance to redeem yourself for a possibly awful auto-pick draft. Show your true fantasy-managerial mettle in a live draft! There's nothing better about fantasy sports than getting into the War Room, talking it up before the first pick, waiting nervously as each pick goes by & praying that that bastard who picks right before you doesn't steal another of the guys you were counting on! And here's the perfect way.

Seriously, you get a lot of nice features for your $10. You can post an original team logo so you're not limited to what CBS already has loaded. You can create your own news stories on the league home page so the trash talking isn't limited to the league message board.

The team management section has lots of nice features too. A one week look ahead for line ups plus it indicates anticipated starts for your SP's, among other things.

I liked it so much last year, I joined a public hockey league over the winter. $10 ain't much for 6 months of fun.

Unfortunately my last ditch efforts didn't work and our league got disbanded. That really doesn't mean anything. All it means is that Crips have to reschedule the draft in a week or so and start up a new league.

Crips please do that and RFMail all of us the new league info. I am still recruiting as I type.

I agree with Dave...in general, I detest the autodraft. But if we're the only two who are against it, I'll gladly prerank players & switch the league to auto in order to get it done before the season starts.

We may all have to jump again, I don't know if you can change draft style after the league is created in CBS. We'll see.

Secondly, I really do not like autopick myself but I really don't mind having the live draft either. We could stick with this date. The excitement of the live draft is unbelievable and unpredictable like Def Dave said himself.

No beef here, just making a comment. I'm happy with this league.

You should have seen me trying to recruit over the last couple of days. Posting in all of my fantasy leagues, RFMailing fluff, East Side Dave, Snoogans, etc, trying to convince WindowSill, SuperClerk, Heckler, Tall James, furie and WWFallon but no dice. Ahhhh! This is really stressful!

I urge anyone who is in one of the other leagues to do the same so we can fill the last spot. Otherwise, we'll have to look outside RF.net. I know a couple of people who might be interested, but I would rather keep it internal to RF.net, to do away with anyone worrying about collusion.

Whoever gets back to me first gets a spot. The good thing is that it's with a second username, so there won't be any trouble emailing the correct owner or having access to each others' rosters.

If that fails, I'm sure we can get some cheap bastard to take the team off my hands if I offer it for FREE...so we've got that to fall back on as well. Remember you can edit colors of text etc under "Options" to fit your viewing pleasure as well as personal logo under Options as well. I like putting animated gifs but you can choose whatever you want or the ones that they have given to you, some generic hats, etc.

There is a league messageboard, news like I put up, and a new really cool "On the Trading Block" function that allows you to simulate trade talk although you don't really need it.

Ant Campo is my cousin. He was the first friend/family member to accept my offer to take the last spot. He's a fantasy junky (especially baseball), like myself, and he's well steeped in baseball & trash talk knowledge. He's been lurking on the for a few months since he used to listen to the show when we worked together & especially since the day he was over my shoulder when Iwas checking out the "Hot Chick Pic Game" thread...he been checking that one out every few days for months now for fresh 'material.'

And we're ultra-competitive with one another, so there shant be any chance of funy business between us. I'm the last guy he would help out, at least in a shady way.

I hope nobody minds, but I wasn't taking chances emailing people all day today. I'll be spending most of the day in meetings, so I wouldn't really have the time to even check email after 9am today until around 4pm, and we only have until midnight tonight to get it filled.

The draft went well. And other than my cousin stealing Troy Glaus from me, I love my team.

Just curious...what did you do for the draft? Did you open the draft applet & put yourself on AutoPilot, or did you just not show up? Because it seemed like three of the guys who weren't there (including you) picked instantly when their turn came around, and the other two absentee drafters went through every pick taking the full 90 seconds. It was odd.
